Good review thanks,i had the double maxim which was a great ale,and similar to Newcastle brown when it was a great beer😊its difficult near impossible to find these maxim beers anywhere pity.

@@FighterPilot1945 Yeah, it's a nice beer and similar to the original Nook'y that was blended. Yeah, it is difficult to get this beer if you aren't local. Double Maxim is available at Morrisons around the Leeds area and other parts of Yorkshire. But you won't see it south of Lincolnshire unfortunately. 🍻🙂

I've actually had this (& double maxim) both on cask when originally brewed by Vaux. Both beers are still good today so well done Maxim brewery. 7/10 a well deserved score. Regarding filming in pubs I think I finally mastered it after about 20 vids..i send u a couple of things to look out for Graeme in the next comments, cheers

1, I usually casually mention at bar I'm planning to film and never had a problem apart from once in Lake District they phoned up the Brewery to check😂(greene king) 2, although filming with the window behind you shows the colour of the beer well, it causes problems with light/dark, shade, glimmer etc. 3, best time to film is opening time when it's quiet and they've not put TV or music on by then 4, Don't film at the bar there's too much going on 5, Google name of pub with ' whatpub' after it. This is a camra site and pretty accurate with the pubs cask beer range, opening times, pubs nearby etc..useful tool. 6. although maybe a nice day filming in beer gardens, when WINDY can be a problem Good luck with you're cask reviews..and ignore the funny looks when you're filming. Water off a ducks back for me now😂

Samson is a cracking beer. Maxim Brewery also does some other quality ales such as Double Maxim Maximus Swedish Blonde Maverick Raspberry Porter Wards etc.

I agree it is a very nice beer. I have the Double Maxim review coming up soon. I will do the others when I can back up there to get them. 🍻🙂

They only recently re released it in bottles, maybe a year at most, they arent to sharp on the website side of things, great beer, one of my favourites

Yeah, I thought the website wasn't up to date when I'm sitting there with a bottle. It's a very nice beer, but I like Secret Kingdom more from Hadrian Border brewery. Cheers 🍻🙂
