Thank you for the excellent video. In this exercise, are we supposed to feel the diaphragm?
@FeldenkraisNYC2 жыл бұрын
Yes, exactly. The see-saw movements alternately recruit your diaphragm and abdominal muscles. When your belly gets round (protruded) your diaphragm contracts and abdominals relax. When you suck in your belly, your diaphragm relaxes, gets pulled up toward your heart and at the same time abdominals contract. Best of luck on your practice.

My diaphragm just doesn’t descend when I’m standing up. I have been so exhausted today just because I just can’t breathe right. I go from doing better with all the healing stuff. I’m doing and then crashed. Doing better. Then crashed. But at the very least will definitely help get my diaphragm more mobile. Hopefully I’m not dying from some terrible disease. I am 33 years old. I’ve been doing yoga every day for years. Until recently now. Just makes no sense. But feldenkrais is another method that I will definitely give a try and I hope it helps..

This is amazing! How often can it be practiced? Is it safe to do daily?
@FeldenkraisNYC2 жыл бұрын
Yes it should be safe to practice daily. As always in order to maximize the benefit: do not push, do not effort, but learn how to sense the movements, experience them fully. No movement should be uncomfortable. Happy practice!
