My first concert at the age of 15 in '78 was at Anaheim Stadium and the lineup was Van Halen(1st album), Sammy Hagar(1st solo after Montrose), Black Sabbath(with Ozzy) and the headliner was Boston(1st album). I love both versions of VH but, Sammy has to be one of the most humble rockers of all time and I do hope he keeps having fun for our benefit.

In my opinion, Sammy Hagar and his signature sound, helped to create the sound of rock that we know and experience today. Back in the day, we had no way to know these men, who they were, what they were about, like we get to see today. I cant tell you how nice it is to find out, that someone who was so much a part, of so many of our lives, in so many formative times and places, is a actually a worthwhile human being, with feelings and thoughts not so different from our own. Which likely explains why his music connected with so many of us. To fans, these people grow up with us... they were there, on the radio, at so many crossroads of our lives, their music sometimes so poignant it became part of us, our story, to how we see ourselves in many cases... Congratulations Sammy, and thank you.

Life long fan, seen him with DLR Sam and Dave Tour, Waboritas, VH twice, my wife kinda had no choice to just tag along and came to love him as well. Never lets down in concert or in life. I love Sammy Hagar. Always have. I got into his music around 84' with VOA.... and then went back a little, and got into some of the earlier stuff as well. Later on, got into some of the Montrose stuff too. But first and foremost, I am a Van Halen FREAK. Loved them with Dave, who was there when they started it all. He was a huge part of it. It blew my mind. It changed the World. But then.... it got even better. Blew the World a second time. I couldn't believe it. Nothing in the World like Van Halen with Sam. The Red Rocker. Unbelievable. But the thing I love most about Sammy Hagar is.... he seems like an incredible human being. He is the real deal. He lives right. He changes lives. Man... I LOVE this guy. Sammy Hagar is an American Treasure! Always will be.

I respect the hell out of sammy. But I don't respect the fact that he keeps agitating the van halen camp specifically Alex. I don't know Alex, but I do know that he doesn't like interviews and he doesn't like talking in public. I'm a drummer and he's only been in a few magazines a few times. Literally a few times in his whole career. Plus I'm sure it aggravated Alex reading What sammy put in his book about his brother.

They pretty much have to all pay for their own stars nowadays and it's a shame that Martha Reeves only just got inducted recently because no one would or could fund it. I walked that sidewalk from the late 60' until the early 90's. There are plenty of names on the walk that are only there because they paid to be but, I would think Sammy has earned the spot.
