Brought a Denman brush about a month ago and still trying to get the hang of it... so definitely using this technique on my next wash day! Also looking at replacing my current mousse (redken) with the CAKE one that I found in store, so after this video I’m definitely purchasing!! (My current one leaves quite a cast)
@ekin77923 жыл бұрын
If you’re using the same mousse, you can break the cast by getting some hair oil and scrunching it. You could also get your fingers under some of your hair, close to your scalp shake it. It can cause your hair to frizz but it also creates a lot of volume!! Hope I helped

@TheFitCurls3 жыл бұрын
WHOOOAAAAA haha I think I experienced that once or twice? Maybe?! I suggest adding a bit more tension on the brush. Tension creates tighter curls! And don’t forget to shake your head to help those curls take shape :) I’m going to be sharing an updated technique video soon so keep an eye out for that!
@twinetwiddler3 жыл бұрын
@@TheFitCurls So, I tried it again. My husband helped me as he is the one who loves washing my hair for me. He noticed the same thing. No matter how much tension I put on it, it straightens my hair, lol. Crazy, isnt it. So I just put it up like I normally do after he washes it for me and let it do it's own thing as it dries on it's own.

Hey there! I just found your channel and am so glad because we have very similar curl patters! I do have a questions though. It looked like you were forming your curls away from your face with the Denman brush but at the end it looked like your curls naturally like to form towards your face? Is there a reason you do it that way? I'm about a week and a half into my curly journey and have yet to get the Deman brush to really work for me. Thanks!
@TheFitCurls4 жыл бұрын
Lacey Keith great question! I try to train my curls away from my face, hence using the brush in that direction. Now that doesn’t always mean the curls will form that way - each curl has its own personality! - but the twist will help get that spiral started on the right foot. It also depends on which way my hair wants to part that day, since parting to one side vs the other could mean my curls *look* like they’re forming towards my face! I hope this helps lol and I hope you keep me posted when you give the Denman brush a try!

Do you have to diffuse after using a denman brush or is it ok to air dry? I have 2a/b waves and I don’t own a hairdryer or diffuser so I can only air dry at the moment. I want to get a hairdryer and diffuser but I can’t right now. Just wanted to know so if I go and buy a denman brush it won’t be a pointless expense.
@TheFitCurls4 жыл бұрын
Great question - I choose to diffuse because I want the extra volume but you can absolutely air dry!
@trudylatoche62114 жыл бұрын
Will this work with a 2a/2b wave?
@TheFitCurls4 жыл бұрын
Great question - yes it will! I highly recommend styling with wet rather than damp hair - with a looser pattern you’ll want that extra water to help you form those juicy wave clumps 😍

@TheFitCurls5 жыл бұрын
Congrats on starting! I know of many Type 3 curlies that use the 9-row and get great results, so give it a go and tell me how you feel about the results!! It may be worth asking your colorist about glazing your hair to ease in your transition back to your natural color - that will deposit pigment without lifting the level of your hair, so it shouldn’t cause any more damage and might help boost your confidence :) best of luck in your transition!!
