Seeing as it's a flash game, it's sturdiness is actually pretty impressive Flash was NOT meant to be used for games, the engine can even lock up if you press too many keys at once since the event system is purely scripts

You're really right on flash games not having proper documentation. I feel like ninja kiwi could have hours of documentary on it, or just armor games as a whole. It was such a crazy time and it's still hard to believe so many games of incredible quality came out of it

Yeah, one of the screenshots that I showed was from the Miniclip high score hunters forum. Those people were extremely talented, and some were years ahead of future speedrunners in terms of optimizing the games that they played

I remember playing this game all the time and finding out many of these glitches on my own midway through completing it. I had a lot of fun messing around with the wall clipping on as many levels as I could use it. It’s always nice to see a video on something you used to enjoy a lot, so thanks for the great video!

So funny story, dveon is my brother and he discovered the wall clipping glitch one day while he was goofing off on the computer in middle school, he came home that day excited and showed the the glitch and talked about speedrunning it using the glitch. It blows my mind that I'd be hearing about this run again so many years from then, I sent him this video and his mind was blown too. I'd never thought I'd see my brother get so much recognition thank you for making this video

The reason I love Maximum's videos is that instead of some outsider in the game's speedrunning community, he is always one of the best runners so he knows exactly what he is talking about. And you can definitely feel his passion for some of these games since he has poured so much time into each one, both running and documenting each game. Back in 2019 I found this exact same glitch in class but I did it by just immediately facing opposite the wall instead of jumping first. Now I want to go back and try out speedrunning this game...

There are a couple places in both pixel quest games where there is no barrier preventing you from exiting the level and so you can go through walls without needing to perform a dash cancel

5:22 Editing the Actionscript in FFDEC does not mean you are editing the source code. The source code is in AS Bytecode and can be found on the right-hand tab. I suggest finding the thing you want to edit and applying edits exclusively in the bytecode tab to avoid any corruptions. Editing the Actionscript in the left tab is like google translating back and forth. (in this case decompiling and recompiling).
