this is not even Rap. this is a man spitting poetry about his life. Edit: for some reason people keep thinking idk what rap is ? Most rap these days is so shallow and narrow minded, this is just a dope track telling a story I feel like it’s hard to find an artist these days able to do this well. i was fortunate enough to get to listen to it before it was released. i cried the first time i heard it as well
@floweuphoria9992 жыл бұрын
What crazy is how so many people have that experience. It’s super trippy to me when I listen to Kevin Gates because when he was releasing only mixtapes I was broke af so I had access on my 70 dolla android and now he broke it off with Dreka and I’m probably gonna leave my situation. From being a protector of women and children trapping drugs, using violence to force situations to go your way I relate too much to all of his lyrics. People call him freaky and promiscuous but that’s because he was molested when he was younger. Fortunately I don’t share that similarity with him but I’d probably be dead if I did
@jordannietos Жыл бұрын
If you grew up poor this song just hits differently. Drive bys as a regular occurrence? Yeah you grew up in the hood. Not everyone has this experience but damn if it ain't how life is.

I’m from Texas and 1st seen Maxo in the vid fighting with rizzo, I respected the situation so much about picking up the fist and putting guns down! Now I’m here and damn I’m glad I tuned in!

Found this randomly. This song goes hard af. I'm a 28 year old white dude with a house, family, nice truck but it brought me back to roaches in my ashtray and actually in my cereal. That painful nostalgia of growing up poor as fuck, selling drugs, family in jail. I like when rappers rap about shit that is real. That's why I vibe with Freddie Gibbs so hard and now this dude.

Thats wild. I was flooded out and lost everything in katrina and exactly 10 years to the day my dad died of a heart attack. I remember thinking , dam, 10 years already because it was on the news for the anniversary of katrina. Then i got the call about my father. Both huge moments in my life that i wish i could somehow change but thats just how life is.
