Congrats to the Professor! I had an Erasmus exchange at Umeå University in 2019 where she had published her study regarding CRISPR-Cas9... Wow! I am also a molecular biology and genetics graduate and I took my courses from the Department of Molecular Biology there, I feel quite happy! 😄 Edit: After watching the video I can say that she said exactly what I thought, she is a smart and quite intellectual person for sure. Just before watching it, when I learned that the Nobel Prize was given to her due to the publishment she made in 2012 (and now awarded with the Nobel Prize); I said to myself ‘Wow, not a quite long ago, scientists were able to receive it like 30-40 years after their key publishment(s) and even after their death (by which they can’t receive the award due to the rules), however, she was able to receive it only after 8 years!’’. I think this shows the huge advancement in the transferring/conducting of scientific knowledge! Actually, I am happy about it because this is fairer, you don’t want to wait until you die to get a Nobel prize... More importantly, she said that progress in science is not performed just by supporting scientists, it is about supporting ‘the system’, not the individuals directly, and the politics have the main role and a large responsibility to do it properly as well as the non-scientific people/organizations (e.g. NGOs) besides, surely, the Academia. She has also said that fundamental science/research is a key for technological advancement, it is not like a hobby or something ordinary, it must be supported and young scientists must be raised for the seek of future generations. And Yes, that’s why I like the French woman!

Since bacterias found that weapon against viruses, might we find some good bacterias to become friend with, so that they would live in our body and fight for us ? !!
