I realize this is an old video, but if you are still using these engines, consider buying a EGR cooler shield from us which extends the life of the cooler against thermal fatigue, a common failure. Feel free to reach out for details.

Allman Charrington. if i remember correctly there should be three 10mm bolts on the bottom of the manifold. There are alot of accesories you will need to remove before getting to the egr cooler. They really went out of their way to engineer an engine so backwards. nothing makes sense on these money pit engines.

Allman Charrington to remove the manifold you must remove egr valve first then all of bolts that hold manifold in place

Cleo Weinberg. i dont have any videos w installation, how ever just make sure you lube core with dawn soap or other lubricant such as P80. installation is very simple. it uses same tool and it is very straight forward

Guys question.If the low temp egr cooler plug its better to replace or could be washed? Do you know the websites to order the parts like intake throttle valve for less

I work for international dealer if low temp cooler is plugged then high temp cooler has failed. I have done many of these. Just junk. Hope you can get least a year with new one

Ok go and try one of those places with ultrasonic washing it will work and lived as a new one

Thats what I intenf to do,both of my coolers are CLOGGED but I'm still trying to figure out what chemicals to use.

At the dealer some guys told me about 5 gallons liquid but not the name checl with ur local dealer

If a person replaces the EGR Cooler with an aftermarket M1M Cooler and drills out the DPF. (Where I am full deletes are allowed would this fix most of the maxforce issues. A friend drilled his and it never regens, the pressure and hear I understand cause a lot of issues on many trucks. Opinions appreciated

2011 and 2012 max force engines have been described as junk, the company cannot install aftermarket coolers nor can they cicrumvent epa regulation. My question is does changing it to the m1m egr cooler designed for prostar maxforce and drilling out the dpf so the vehicle acts as a pre-emmission truck fix most of the max force issues. Or are there other issues not related to the epa regulations. eaxamplem they used plastic in the engine you seem to be an expert this is why I ask. Thank you

Ok. So I drilled out my DPF and DOC filters on my 2012 prostar. (Maxxforce engine) at about 1.1 million kilometres. I currently have 1.3 million on it right now and the only issue I have is a check engine light on the dash that mechanics can't seem to figure out what it is😂😂

Jake Knelsen So you Did install the M1M cooler? And when you say you drilled out the dpf and doc do you mean literally with a drill bit and drill? What about the sensors? And did your oil pressure ever get affected afterwards? Thanks!

+Balerio Torres unfortunately there is no other way to extract the coolers. unless you fabricate your own extracting tool

We used air hammers with a chisel bit and prybars before they came out with the tool. mangled it up but it worked!
