Man, thank you a lot, I think you're talented teacher. I am a beginner in Maya, used Rhinoceros 3D a lot. My English is pretty bad, but I can understand just every your word. It's just amazing. Thanks a lot for your work here. Greetings from RU.

After more then 10 years of working in Rhino, its time for me to move on to something more advanced in terms of animation and dynamics, so I came back to Maya, my hidden love for all those years... Ill be installing 2017 today and start learning, with your tuts... so, wish me luck! I`ll rate your videos as I go through them ;)

Here is the first update since I had no time at all to learn as I should... but the polygonal modeling is still a big issue... I come from nurbs modeling and Rhino and it is completely different type of modelling... Like I have never ever worked in 3D before :) I guess the best way is to challenge myself in modeling various objects... with practice comes perfection ;)
@firstname44747 жыл бұрын
Sabba man, the same thing. I've worked with Rhinoceros for 2 years and I'm feeling like I don't know anything in 3D now. Just started to learn Maya.

Thank you so much for your tutorials .... Finally after watching just a couple of them, I feel I understand some of the most important parts of the software ... I found that even the paid tutorials, assumed you already know some stuff.... and leave you with a blanc look on your face... hehehe .... You are really good at explaining what a beginner needs to get started .... Thanks again !!!!!

Hey Yone! I have practiced this tutorial on Maya '18. There are a few changes in Arnold rendering like there is option called Specular instead of Glossy or I don't know if it is replacing to that option. Anyway in 18, for Arnold renderer tab, I entered the value 5,3,3 for first three option and it took my laptop roughly 14 mins to complete the whole process. Is it normal? I am currently having 8th gen core i7, 16 GB Ram and NVidia 1060 6 GB graphics card. Not too sure now if I have the right product for animation.

hi sir, i love to animate..is it possible to learn MAYA by watching only the tutorials??? what u will recommend?
@yonesantana5 жыл бұрын
Hi Vineeth, tough question. I'm a firm believer that you can learn anything thanks to the information that is available online. However that information is not always clear or easy to find. Self learning takes time and discipline, but I would also look into courses and make the best choice for how I learn. Either way watch my videos on Maya I think you'll get a good solid foundation for what to learn next. All the best.

There is a bug in Maya 2017, that the pluggin unloads for some reason. You can go into your Windows> Settings and preferences> Pluggin Manager and just tick the boxes to reload Arnold without closing maya. Hopefully Autodesk will patch this at some point

Which is easier to learn Maya or 3Ds Max?
@yonesantana8 жыл бұрын
A tough one to answer, but I will try. The easiest one to learn is normally the one you learnt first. I don't believe that one is easier when you are trying to learn the whole 3D workflow. It takes a long time to become dexterous on how to use 3D software, so it is best to commit just to learn one really well before you dive into another piece of software. I learnt Max first because it is what I was taught at University and I had access early on to tutorials and people who worked on Max. Both somewhat complicated but they both shine at doing specific things. I love animating in Maya and I love the great variety of modelling tools in 3DS Max. If you are just starting out pick the one you like the most or is more useful for you to get a job. Learn that one really well and later you'll be amazed by how easier, and at some times frustrating, it is to learn a second or third 3D package

thank you for this video . . .. but what about vray ?
@yonesantana8 жыл бұрын
Hi Khalil, Thanks for your comment. I have wanted to do some videos on V-ray for a while but I am in the process of getting the latest V-ray License from Chaos Group. I hope to have this sorted with in 3 weeks time when I'll be posting videos on texturing and lighting. I want to be using an official v-ray license for all the tutorials I make for this series. I will keep you guys posted as we move into more advanced stuff.

Can u resolve this problem? And please tell about this
@yonesantana6 жыл бұрын
Hi Piyush. I had a similar problem when I started rendering in Arnold There a NEW way to render within maya. Make sure you are in the Rendering Tool set, and just above Batch render there is a command called: RENDER SEQUENCE If you want tot render Image sequences in Maya using Arnold you need to use this command. I hope that helps And best of luck on your learning.
@piyushkhanna74256 жыл бұрын
I did the same. But even after clicking on render sequence, it continues to Arnold rendering and never stops nor give any results
@yonesantana6 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear. Besides restarting Maya and making sure you've set your project. There is nothing you are doing wrong.
@piyushkhanna74256 жыл бұрын
I resolved the above problem. But that problem of Arnold rendering in rendering mode to create animation is still there. Please help me out
@piyushkhanna74256 жыл бұрын
I mean if I am using 72 frames, then rendering is done 72 times and then gives result. Is it the case in real?

@krishnapandurangmate9637 жыл бұрын
You are great
@73maxmau8 жыл бұрын
Actually this is incorrect. You can render animation, without watermarks, using "Render Sequence". You cannot render animation in batch render, without watermark, unless you buy an additional licence for Arnold.
@yonesantana8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the heads up. I'll test that and update the notes in the video :D That is great news.
@73maxmau8 жыл бұрын
You are welcome. It's not as flexible as the batch render, but It's better than having the watermark.
@piyushkhanna74256 жыл бұрын
U are right. It's not working under batch render. And then, I tried render sequence but Arnold rendering is going on and on and is not stopping nor giving any view of animation.
