Hey glad you are back! Your videos really helped me when I was in a pinch in modeling for an assignment that I only had a few weeks to accomplish. For that I am really grateful. As for questions, I know you only started a series of tutorial for animation but I was wondering if you are going to have tutorials how to model animatable/riggable humanoid characters? I tried watching many tutorials but they dont really explain it thoroughly how the topology should be to work with the rigging and skinning.
@yonesantana
@yonesantana 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Lito, sorry for the late reply. I have my next tutorial will try and cover the basics of character rigging. It's currently 80% done, I hope it will be useful to help solve some of your questions. Rigging is a large area so I might need to make more videos.

You're alive!, great to see that this channel isn't dead. Thanks for the animation rig download, it would be nice to see how you went about making and rigging this squash and stretch rig, perhaps for a future video? btw welcome back, cheers.

Yes, the rumours of my death have been grossly exaggerated. Thanks for watching. I am planning to make a light rigging video, but I'm trying to find a fun way of explaining it. Watching rigging can be like watching paint dry, but I'm always up for a challenge. It's good to be back.

Hey Yone, why did you decide to make a key in every frame possible (inbetweens aswell) instead of keying only the correct keyframe poses and using the graph editor for further adjustments?
@yonesantana
@yonesantana 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Joao, Different animation styles favour different methods. I use the graph editor at work and its great to do things quickly, However when you are trying to create good breakdowns or show weight, you will end up adding many more keys and people tend to loose track of the spacing. As you start polishing your animation you will start adding more keys. And smooth curves do not guarantee good animation. You can learn more about his if you like on my Spacing for Animation class on Skillshare: skl.sh/2WtzKn8

How can I anímate an oject independently from the motion path at the biggining and after a few frames continue the animation with motion path?...if I key the object it doesn`t follow the motion path even if the motion path starts afterwards
@yonesantana
@yonesantana 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Javier, I'm unsure about your question. Are you starting an animation with keys and then constraining the object to a motion path? If your first language is spanish, you can ask me the question in Spanish (I'm just going on the name here, sorry if I got it wrong)

how long will it take for a graphic desgner to learn Maya n start earning? is it worth for graohic designer to learn Maya?
@yonesantana
@yonesantana 4 жыл бұрын
I'll answer the question backwards. Is 3D necessary for a graphics designer? Yes and No. If you are interested in making 3D like graphics, typography and design. making them in 3D is much easier than trying to "fake" them in 2D programs. you need to learn quite a lot in the software so you can build simple things quite quickly but I find it takes a year for beginners to start getting comfortable with the software. How long does it take to start earning, that depends on your skill and what you do in the 3D industry. As soon as you have an employable skill you can start earning money.

Why is the last bounce higher than the first?
@yonesantana
@yonesantana 4 жыл бұрын
When I made this animation, I was following the idea that the "pill" is a character. Not a physical object, just showing a loss of momentum. As a character jump. So it can jump, high, low, wide, narrow... So I'm trying to make each jump similar, but not exactly the same. Where can i find how to rig that capsule like you did?
@yonesantana
@yonesantana 3 жыл бұрын
There isn't a tutorial as such. I just kind of put it together. I'm not a rigger so didn't make a tutorial, as the capsule is just functional, but very messy under the hood.

modeling is comlsry for animator?
@yonesantana
@yonesantana 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Avinash, No you don't need to know how to model to get a job in Animation. Most jobs that are listed for "Animator" will expect you to know the principles of animation, how to animate in a 3D software, body mechanics and possibly some acting. Jobs that require modeling and animation are usually are listed as "Generalist." Where they need someone who knows a little bit about everything 3D.

That amount of keyframes in the last animation is really needed?
@yonesantana
@yonesantana 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ines, It might seem like too much for a beginners exercise, but what I was setting out to do teach how to have control over your spacing even if you are not a graph editor wizard. I find there's a lot of emphasis in 3D animation to "smooth" everthing out. But when you are further along your learning process and you want to make especially cartoony animations, you'll tend to add a lot more hand made keys than you can imagine. You can learn more about this on my Spacing for Animation class on Skillshare: skl.sh/2WtzKn8
