The grass u can get it in paint effect. But u may nid to turn it into polygon, in fact it wont show in render. That option was under the paint effect.

Thanks for your comment! you might need to add a sky dome light from Arnold lights menu and this should help give more lights and better shading to your scene, cause I didn't use AO shader. hope this helps :)

Amazing! Thank you so much! I have a issue with the batch render... my texture its green like a normal grass BUT in the render its totally blue! I'm using Arnold 2.0.2 in Maya 2018. Do you know anything about that? Thank you so much again!

Hi! Thank you for your awesome comment :) I never had the issue of have blue batch render, if the regular render looks good then batch should work the same, maybe try to use render sequence instead of batch render? goto Render=> Render Sequence. this might fix the issue, in Maya 2017 and 2018 I don't use batch render anymore I use render sequence and it works pretty good never had issue with it. hope this helps :)

Have you tired different file formats like .png or .jpg? this might work, never had this issue before. its a tricky one.

Haha! Yeah! I tried that too! Well... Just a new about it... i try on Maya 2017 and works pretty well... I think it's a bug on Maya 2018/xGen/Arnold 5.0.2 because the first two renders of the day works prefectlly BUT the chaos begins after that... Thank you again, man! Hey, I've encountered issues with xgen multiple times and I think this inormation might help me - where did you save your file? And Did you do it in some different way than simply save scene? I keep getting this error with xgen just right before grass scatters all over the place - part of path is impossible to be found and it keeps showing the wrong/ nonexistent action file :/

hmm did you create a project folder for your scene? cause this way x-gen can add the files in the correct folders, I didnt have this issue before. I created maya project file and saved everything in the correct folder structures for the maya files and the xgen files and also for the images as well.

Hi, when I create an archive from selection, no .xarc file is created, meaning I can't add the xgen archive. A .abc and a few .ass files are created but no .xarc. Any help would be much appreciated!

thats weird, sometimes if something weird happen with Maya and I cant figure it out, I will try to rename the prefs folder and then restart Maya, after that it will ask you to create default preferences or it will create it automatically, that might help fix issues sometimes. because this way it will reset Maya back to its default state, that might help fix some bugs or issues with the software that preventing it from doing its job. hope this will help :)

How to *CREATE* realistic grass in Maya: Just buy a preset. Not what I expected from this video tbh. Everyone can go ahead and buy a preset and just include it in the scene. I'm sorry but this is a big dislike from me
