Decent video. For better practice and workflow having the Outllner open at all times will help you follow where the IK handles, parenting properties, joints, etc. This goes for everything.

Thank you for this tutorial... It's really helpful! My only problem is when creating a group with joints and IK handles within. When I try to move the model, it seems it is stuck... If I get the elements outside the gruop everything's fine again. Wondering what the problem is...

Mike nice tutorial, though i have a question in mind. When we apply the elbow joint straight without bending, we get the ik handle bending in the opposite direction. but when you apply the elbow joint straight, it works perfectly fine. Why so? We should rather apply the elbow joint slightly bent i guess? A lil help...

Nice tutorial thank you for that, I only have one question I can't figure out, if I have joint1>joint2>joint3 and I create an IKhandle between 1 and 3 it will work like in the video but if I translate joint1 the 3 will move and it's not what I want. How can I make this IKhandle work both ways ? If I need to animate a character who does squat for example my foot will move down when I move the hips down, I need your help on that! Thank you if you can answer me !

Hey, i tried the Ik handle and when i pull the handle in the shoulder the elbow does nothing, it's like it is stuck.

I solved my problem haha i just had to select the joints, go to "Skeleton" and then select "set preferred joints" and issue fixed

When using IK on a model for rotation constraint , the feet end up not moving at all but the whole model itself is running perfectly, is there anyway to correct that?

I have had A Lot of trouble with animating with skin weights and bones wit do/if controllers and then the whole hierarchy gets messy. Would be cool if you explained all of this even though it's a lot.

So I would put the skin weights on a human character, but then when I move the bones, the geometry skin weights would grab other parts of the body. Ex: I would move the arm, but the legs and back would also move causing a large sharp spike.

So you can't create rigs just out of geometry like in Max. You have to use joints, align them properly, parent objects to them and only them apply an IK solver/handler. That sounds like more work from no reason.

SO mine request ...come,Dream ;becomes true ,....with #MIKE_HERMES Great 3D Creative Artist sir... and not only for me it's for many of the people also ask for these locomotion, motion and joints like IK- Fk Kinematics etc etc... sir; if possible kindly make OR add some info about rigging plug ins or python script about rigging too.. and... i ;hope these rigging and skinning tutorial also come in series... so that's every rigger and animation 3D student should scope this opportunity!!! myself Rony an Animation CG & Visuals Fx student from India.
