the queen actually cant take the bishop because the knight will go to e2 checkmate! so taking the night is better i agree with ville lahti!

29:49 No, Mike NO! Bad advice. Even though probably the players wouldn't see it, you should. If 1...Bd6 2. Qxf6?? then 2... Ne2#

yup, he _must_ see that!!!

Ouch! Indeed. Well, otherwise it was a fine lecture for the intended (beginner) audience, I think.

Jonas Žnidaršič Knight was on h3, also BTW it is very clear that the f rook was played to d8 and then later the a took went to c8 the b8 and the bishop in the actual game that was played was never hanging because there was a took on d8..

Is Mike Kummer single? I think he is the hottest guy to ever play chess.
@CarlosSilva-cx6oh10 жыл бұрын
How this guy teaches chess is beyond me...
@aegion710 жыл бұрын
Kummer is great. Not only is he having to analyze games on the spot, he's also having to lecture and break things down in ways the beginners can understand. You wouldn't be able to analyze a game while teaching a class of beginners nearly as well as this. Mike Kummer was also the presenter for one of the best and most entertaining videos on this channel where he details his game with Tim Nechum.

I'm amazed as well. This guy it's so bad it's embarassing.
@CarlosSilva-cx6oh10 жыл бұрын
krityx looking at that disastrous part of the lecture again, where he misses mate in 1. If you look at that game I don't think he made 1 single correct rook move.. Sure the kid should've notated the game more accurately, but still him being a teacher and all he should really know which rook is being moved. It's quite pathetic really..

...that's why he got fired idiot. He teaches strategies that will hurt beginners in the long term.

You do realise I posted this over 2 years ago so how am I an idiot.

~11 min. why qd5? nd7, f7is goes away of course but what else? ok white is winning, but.. if bishop f7 than qd5 white is exchange up.
@jasondoe259610 жыл бұрын
The White bishop forking king and rook won't help you if your queen remains _en prise_ because you won't be able to take the rook; so Mike is correct. Unless I misunderstood something in your comment.
@belakun913910 жыл бұрын
Jason Doe what i say is. if queen to d5, than black is not forced to defend f7 i think. simply plays nd7, and saves the rook. cause yeah, f7 goes but what else? but yeah, still white wins.. but but but :) if first you take on f7 with the bishop, and after the king goes in the corner than you play qd5.. and both of the rooks are under attack. and if nd7 or something, the other rook is still attacked by the bishop. and white is up a lots of material.
