Maybelle Carter - Wildwood Flower (Live 1975)

This is a rare live preformance from Maybelle from 1975 just after the death of her husband Ezra Carter who was also the brother of A.P Carter, Maybelle was married to Ezra from 1926 and took his death bad, sadly she passed away in 3 years later 1978. Sara Carter is not in the video sadly but Maybelle's daughters and grandchildren are :) such an amazing lady even her children and grandchildren are in awe of her, we all miss her so much but the memories and music she has left behind will be timeless :) and be passed on to generations to come long after we have all gone.

I was sad watching this you could tell mother maybelles Parkinson's were getting bad and she looked miserable playing. I have nothing but respect for that kind little old lady

Yes sadly she was towards the end of her life here and just lost her husband and had bad arthritis so she found it hard to play the guitar in later life.

@@carterfamilychannel yes, I thought instantly she wasn't looking at all well and happy. She loved so much to play, and it must have hurt her girls terribly to see her like this. They all died sadly of illnesses, before their time, but left so much music for the world. Never seen this one before.

@@carterfamilychannel yes, I agree on both counts. But Sara's heart was never in it, as we both know, and no doubt greatly coloured by her early experiences with AP. A tragic situation, and life, for them both, really. AP ending up running a store after his major contribution. His own fault, but sad nonetheless.
