No, it's normal. Ever notice how there are several villains for each superhero? The Vast Majority Of People can't think, only react. They have room for Only One Entity they're willing to see as Elevated. This is why Americans can't see "politicians." They only think they're looking at 'Government' whenever they see one, 'Government' a solitary Being whose only priority is Our Protection. Same with QBs. Whoever people see as The GOAT, "there can only be one."

@@user-jv7qn6eu1cNah Mariota isn’t on Mayes level as a college qb. Maye is levels above Mariota. Mariota was just a typical fast qb who made good decisions and stuff but Maye is the total package different arm angles big arm big body can scoot he can do it all. His biggest flaw is his mechanics which will tighten up in the NFL with better coaching. That and if he can get rid of that wind up he has when he throws other than that Mariota as a college QB doesn’t come close to Maye and Mayes supporting cast is dog shit at UNC those WR are shitty

@@CrypticCabal In terms of learning, practicing, and improving fundamentals for someone who lacks consistency but can do everything that's asked of him physically, Fields is a perfect comparison to Allen. Fields had a much improved line, DJ Moore, and a decent second option in his tight end. Was his early time in Chicago difficult? Yes. But his situation was much better this past season, yet he made no significant improvement. Regardless of the talent around someone, that does not excuse poor fundamentals and lack of work on said fundamentals. If anything failed him, it was the coaching. But even that can only shoulder so much of the blame. Even in a bad coaching situation, good players will find a way to improve. Sadly, time ran out for him.

Idk why the media discourse has now essentially been reduced to talking teams into taking a flawed qb prospect. If a prospect is not there, don’t talk yourself into it. There are superb non-qb prospects that should be taken at the top of the draft but dumb GMs feel like taking a qb is necessary.
@Rudipu
@Rudipu Ай бұрын
Yeah man that happens all the time. Usually a team picking top 10 is so far from being good that they need almost everything (especially a solid O line), but usually end up throwing questionable guys into impossible situations and just ruining them. Just because your team needs a QB does not mean you should just take whichever one is available when there is top talent in other positions of need. Then when you do finally get a QB, they actually have a chance to pan out.
@ThinkingFootball
@ThinkingFootball Ай бұрын
Because almost no QB prospect is ever flaw free - The CJ Strouds and Andrew Lucks don't come around very often Most of these guys got to this position through being great position coaches (and nepotism) so always think they can fix a players flaws, if you don't think that, you are unlikely to be an NFL coach There are fantastic players available, but the QB position is the most valuable on the roster, and defines the offense - if you dont have one, you're desperate to get one.

@PlaySA
@PlaySA Ай бұрын
No they ain't. His anticipation and reads are the worst in the class among at least the top 5. He makes the wrong reads all the time, it's impossible to tell what he's thinking back there. And he's way more of a see it, throw it type guy. Even the play at 10:00 where they were trying to highlight his anticipation, that isn't NFL anticipation. He saw his guy win on the route then threw the ball. In the NFL you need to throw that pass before the receiver is even out of their break, just going on leverage and DB position. And that's an easy read as far as anticipation is concerned, a comeback route on the sideline where you only need to watch one defender.

I think Maye could def start considering he can make plays in structure. It just comes down to the situation he ends up in and how his OC utilizes him while covering his possible weaknesses. He'll def need more help than he had in UNC because simulated pressures is getting super trendy in the NFL along with blitzes to confuse the hell out of young QBs.

All the rumors now are the Giants are aggressively trying to get the 3rd pick from the Patriots. Some are saying that the Patriots are more interested in JJ McCarthy compared to Drake and may be looking to move down, draft JJ, and get some additional draft capital in the process. It's definitely intriguing to see if the Giants get him though and Brian Daboll can work with him in the same way he did with Josh Allen in Buffalo. There's some comparisons there. Big arm strength, athleticism, but some major concerns regarding his footwork and accuracy...definitely reminds me of Josh Allen coming out of the draft, and look at what Josh is now. Don't know what'll happen on draft night but Maye to the Giants is definitely the most intriguing outcome for me, just because of what Daboll was able to do with Josh Allen in a relatively short amount of time. Giants definitely need receiver help and secondary help, but lord knows Daniel Jones aint it for them. That ship has sailed.

What is the ideal landing spot where you think he would develop properly? Denver doesnt have the WR to reward those lapses. NE needs to rebuild their Oline. Seattle? Edit - Jets to sit a year?
@ThinkingFootball
@ThinkingFootball Ай бұрын
Behind Brisket or Geno and sit for a year, give him a chance to tune the mechanics and eye placement, and he could be deadly Both those are new coaching staffs though, so hard to know how they'll develop a QB I think almost every QB should come out and sit for a year, it just makes sense

You can’t teach size ,athleticism,or arm talent the rest con be developed. The biggest variable for these prospect is where they end up in The NFL. Mahomes might not be as successful if he had been taken by the Bears or the Patriots. Th initial coaching they receive at the next level is a major factor in their future success

His processing is his most underrated trait. It seems to me that any “missed reads” are intentional and not really misses

@@jasonderby7635he def has bad traits, I just dont thing his processing is one of them. For example, at 15:50 to me it looks more like he didn’t want to get his receiver killed by the LB, and was looking for something in the endzone. Plus, by the time the whip is really open, he is under heavy pressure. I think a lot of his processing issues (not all of them) can be put on poor scheme and OL play

The only real flaw everyone points to all the time with drake is his erratic accuracy at times...which is very coachable bc it's primarily an effect of bad footwork. Outside of that, Drake has nearly everything you could want in a QB. Clean up the footwork issues and he'll be a beast. He's very Josh Herbert/Josh Allen like.

Give this dude 2 years to sit and he could easily be Jordan Love but we know that wont happen. NFL has qb evaluation backwards. They look at qbs expecting a complete player when they should be looking for guys with elite traits that cant be taught and give them the time and resources to develop that which can be taught. Patience and reps. Patience and reps.
