I have this washer. I hate it!! I have learned this. Fill every load only 1/2 full use bulky sheets deep water and double rinse and maybe you will get a clean load in almost 2 hrs.

​@@yonofui3755 It comes down to if things are just musky/need a refresh (light) , grimy/little dirty (regular) and very muddy/deep stained ( heavy)...really you should use Regular 90% of the time and use Heavy sometimes Light is really not needed. But I sometime use it when washing sensitive items

After you put your clothes in the washer, wet them (with a bucket or pitcher or whatever). That will add weight to the clothes, and the sensor will detect more weight, and thus, it will add more much needed water. A half a cup of water to be "efficient" just doesn't cut it.

You add detergent into the bottom of the washer, then add clothes

I have the same exact one since my last one broke and they put this one in. I never knew what any of the settings did other than the deep water setting that just puts more water in instead of the auto sensing which hardly uses any water at all

The trouble I'm having is trying to figure out the start button because I don't know if I'm holding it down too long or not holding it down long enough and I was hoping you were actually going to demonstrate hitting the start button.

I don’t know whether we have the same model, but on my top loader you hit the power button on the left side of all those display lights. When one light turns on, hit the start button and ALL the lights should turn on. You’ll hear a clunking sound, which is the lid locking. It takes a few seconds before the machine actually starts. Hope that helps.

I’m having this issue did you ever figure it out? I push the button once and it senses but the water never stops but if I push the button again, the water finally starts.

That’s what I was hoping for too. Like what does bulky/sheets actually do differently? My best guess has always been that it allows more off-balance rocking during the spin cycle without shutting down, but that hypothesis is based on absolutely no real evidence at all. The reason I came to the video was to find out what the soak cycle does, I’m wondering if it fills up like an old-school washer or (more likely but I hope not) just does basically a spritz and then let’s it sit for a minute

I have MODEL: MVWC565FW2, which looks exactly like what this is. My washer has NEVER worked. It does not fill and does not agitate! We always used Maytag, NEVER AGAIN.

Wash in bulky, it will fill the water to a higher level. Deep water wash is a joke, it's hardly fills. I HATE this washer! The only bonus is it spins out the water really well.

You're right. I hate this washer. It does not clean properly. It agitates too slow. Doesn't get enough water. It's like swishing the items in a puddle of water. I don't always want to wait to do a full load. My previous Maytag lasted for 21 years and was heavy duty. I thought I would buy another Maytag for the large tub. What was wrong with the older timer? Never again!

I just got this today. Does a good job. Clothes spun out well. (Did 2 loads). My question is when you turn the dial the lights on the panel light up and they stay lit up. Then you have to press the button again to start it??? Or I put it on normal and the lights light up but the machine does nothing until you press start again. Odd.

I just it moved into a house that has same washing machine. You said where to put fabric softener, but where do you put the detergent???? How could you miss that important information? There is a little hole on the top left side

The instructions says that the detergent is the first thing you put on the washing machine, on top of thaT: your clothing. Really weird bc the water fills so much later on and sometimes my clothes came out with detergent so I need to rinse again! 🤬

@@melval1376 a simple little feature you think he would say to do that. I'm having that issue too detergent not being blended. On my old machine I put the detergent in and would run some water to blend it up, then add my clothes. On this one you have to shut the lid and wait awhile and let the water run with no clothes, so that's what I do. But then the auto sensor will shut water off. So now I've learned to turn the auto sensor off, then back on after I've added my clothes. Thought there was possible way to avoid all this runaround, Another thing I don't like about this machine is you can't open it has an auto lock. I noticed that too and you may have to press it twice until only the sending light is on, I’m not sure why it does that because sometimes only one is enough.

Thanks! But, anyone,--I don't have a fabric softener dispenser, so I need to put it in during the rinse cycle... Problem is, after putting it in, I have a hard time restarting... Do I push the START button again? If yes, how many seconds? Sometimes it goes back to restarting the whole wash. Can somebody assist me in this matter? Many thanks! :)

When cycle is running, press the start button one- do not hold it down. Once you add the fabric softener press the start button again- do not hold it down. Good advice just to but a fabric softener ball that you can just throw in with your clothes before washing

Yes it does. Use the soak, rinse & spin, & then drain & spin.

@@zyph4539 , He said "soak" feature does not spin. So whenever it's done, you need to go set rinse/spin cycle. That is not fast to me.

I’m going to start using cold right under hand wash cycle. Also I am going to pour a pitcher of warm water on top of clothes with detergent already poured on clothes. Tired of these overtimed washing cycles!!

I have almost this same exact washer except mine doesn't have a "whites" setting so I'm having trouble figuring out how to wash the whites. I put bleach in with a load of whites and the whites don't smell like bleach like they did with my old washer. Now I'm afraid to put anything else in. Does anyone have any idea what to do? Like I said my washer is this exact washer but without the whites setting.

I take it your having same issues as me. My old maytag I could wash on a heavy load 50 mins, this new stuff I timed it heavy is 1hr 40 mins, depending if you have extra rice, extra power on adds time. It's crazy. All washers should have a timer on it. Make life a lot easier lol.
