Mayte was a godsend to Prince. They were such a beautiful couple in 90s and he was sooo attached to her. She was his sunshine. Watch them in the 90s, the way she looks at him. And he brought her everywhere with him. They really were very much in love. Prince had so many beautiful women. He could have left a trail of kids and been a sugar daddy for a lot of girls, but Mayte was the only one he ever let deep enough into his soul that he would want to start a family with her. I think she really was the true love of his life. They were married about 3 years but together 8-9 years if you include her time with the NPG. They had a genuine friendship and closeness. Much love to Mayte from Prince's fam/fan community.

She kept up with all he did and contributed to their passions... On stage and off. Dance, music, helping others... Inspired the masses. #Love4OneAnother in action. 💜💜 I truly wish they would have found a way back to one another. He might still be alive today. Mayte opened him up to so many things in life he had never experienced. His own words. Their paths were meant to cross.... And alot of beautiful and amazing came out from it. I for one am happy they got to have that kind of love.. But he spoke so much about his love for her and even started choosing some cover songs bcuz they fit how he felt about her.. "Betcha By Golly Wow"... "LA LA LA I love you..." etc. Definitely a love like no other.. Those two.

She is much more than a beautiful face or Prince's ex-wife. She directed the music videos for "The One" for Prince and for other artists like Chaka Khan and Graham Central Station. She choreographed the belly dancing routines that Britney Spears danced for her music video "I'm a Slave 4 U" (2001) as well as Spears' performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. I don't mean to come off like a hater, but imo he mostly cared about looks and not so much about vocal talent. Vanity (may she rest in peace), Apollonia, Mayte, Nona Gaye, Sheila E. Very beautiful women, but could not sing. At least Mayte is a great dancer and Sheila E. is a great musician. Nona may be a great actress, idk, i've never seen her acting skills. May he rest in peace, but Prince was very vain.
