Yes man thanks for the video I cut mine fuel ristor and hotwired it then it wouldn't start now just did exactly what u did and works fine thanks

I sure did resolve it The ballast was fine, but the harness that connects to it had a bad connection.

Thanks for the video :-) I don't have these problem, but good to know if I do I'll watch this video again!

Having the same issue, was it the connection at the box to the relay itself or the plug to the entire harness that had a bad connection??
@ThePaultatorship11 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you have probably resolved your problem by now, but I would def check the fuel pump resistor ballast.

How did you end up fixing this issue? or did you take it in?
@jackheuvel55223 жыл бұрын
I never take any thing in to a mechanic lol After a lot of investigation I found out it was not a relay Full 12v going to the fuel pump After and before jumping the relay Pulled the fuel line and hit the ignition No fuel puking out Bad fuel pump. No problem The strange thing is. When I jumped the relay the first time. It ran. So that leaves me to believe that jumping the relay was possibly a bad thing to do. Maybe to much amperage or the fuel pump was on its way out and it needed more amperage to start. Never less the tank fuel pump is shot. Speed 3 is a very complicated little car to work on. It also needed a wiring harness ( that the last owner hacked up ), injector clean. PCV valve, intake gasket, Injector seals and the turbo has a bit of play at 120.000k. and possibly valve seals on #3 cylinder ( keeps dropping a plug but compression is at spec ). Fast little car when it runs. But not my favorite to work on. Lol

Yo are you sure that resistor is only for the fuel pump. I bypassed it and jumped the wires together with a wire nut and the car runs but it runs really rich. The fuel pressures are fine but i suspect maybe that also resist voltage for the injectors? Car is -10ltft and -5 stft at idle.
@JordieG86 жыл бұрын
Nitr EngiEx it could be dude, I'm not totally sure. It may have mess with the fuel pump duty (high, med, low). To be honest, it's been 3 years since I touch a MS3. It was meant as a very short term situation.

Hey I need some help.... I have a 2006 mazdaspeed6 with an upgraded fuel pump in the trunk with an AEM fpr and no intank fpr.. I start the car and it will idle fine until it gets warm. After about 20 minutes of running the pressure will slowly drop to the point where it will shut off. Koeo I have set the AEM fpr to make it go to 70psi then it will immediately drop down to about 35ish psi and hold that area... I checked my fuse box.... the top left corner (speed6) fuel pump relay has constant 12v I also have a second relay in the trunk that came with my port injection set up and I checked that and it has a constant 12v as well.... Checked the aem to see if it had and tears to the diaphram nothing. At a slight loss as to where I should go from here

Did you ever find a fix? I have a 07 mazdaspeed 6, the in tank fuel pressure at key on if ignition off just make 40psi, so I upgraded to an Aem fuel pump and now I see just 43psi, still having the issue, I think the fuel filter is clogged.
@claymane914 жыл бұрын
I have the same fuse box but that second relay is removed. I don't know if it is from factory or someone forgot to put it back :(

Im having a issue with my mazda 3 2006. When my car run for about an hour hot weather. The car seems to lack of power torque than usual. Is this my fuel pump is bad?

Hey I'm having this issue and using the same jumper wire i was able to drive home. How do i fix the resistor? What needs to be done? @jordieg8
@JordieG87 жыл бұрын
It depends, is it just the connection that's bad or is the resistor dead? If the resistor is dead you'll have to replace it.

JordieG8 i haven't tested the ohms or the connection. if its the connection how do you fix it

JordieG8. after watching this video I figured it out. it was a short/bad or sometimes connection to the pump.

Hi, I have a Mazda 3 2006. 2.3l Got a new fuel pump. But the car doesn't start in first try. It starts in the second. I have to turn on the ignition on and off four times in order to hear pressure sound from the fuel pump and then it starts properly without dying.. Any help?

The issue was at the connector to the relay.

Robert Moy sorry, I need to correct myself, it was the connector at the resistor, not the relay.
