Is flaps open or closed when vacuum valve don't work? P2009 fault

Nice job.

It seems that a functioning VTCS provides better air swirls, and thus better fuel atomization...Also it helps with low-end power....if you remove VTCS, you loose a bit of low-end, but gain power in the upper RPM range. Logic dictates that Mazda would not spend so much money on research, just to put those flappers to block airflow.

Don’t believe I said they put them there to block air flow. I know why they are there. I’m currently built bottom end with a big turbo I don’t care to much for low end power as most racing is going to happen at 3k RPM’s and up.

Any benifits from this for stock ko4 with a full bolt on and tune?
@AdamAkers3 жыл бұрын
They’re there but small. Even big turbo the benefits from this are small I’ll upgrade to a JMF intake soon.

I had a PnP intake I’ll be honest I didn’t feel anything I’m considering trying out the st manifold

Why did you grind off the supports and fill the hole for the MAP sensor? Isn't that still needed?
@AdamAkers3 жыл бұрын
I didn’t fill the hole for the map sensor the map sensor is on the left side at the bottom I filled the holes for the VTCS system because I deleted it. Also I ground off the supports because I don’t need them any more.

@@AdamAkers thanks for the quick response! Yes - turns out I was mistaken about the MAP sensor location I buzzed off all of the VTCS supports this afternoon

Did you use anything for the jb weld for support or did you just put it on there? I’m about to do the same just wondering Thanks
@AdamAkers2 жыл бұрын
Yup just filled the holes with it taped the inside so no access enters the manifold.
@mxtragedy2 жыл бұрын
@@AdamAkers okay great I was wondering on the correct way to do it, has yours been holding up? I went with the high temp jb weld… I thought that would be the best option

Do i need accessport to avoid problems when doing this?
@AdamAkers3 жыл бұрын
Yes! You need to have a custom tune otherwise your car will run awful. Also it’s going to run rough in the winter. I wouldn’t recommend doing this unless you’re big turbo.

If I have it tuned do I have to re tune it to do this ?

Yes.

For the VTCS delete do I need to be tuned?
@AdamAkers2 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely. You will throw a code and it will not run correct.

Does vtcs delete need a tune?
@AdamAkers Жыл бұрын
Yes you will require a tune with this, because the ECU will think it’s getting too much air and set off a code.

Instead of deleting it completely, why not just disconnect the solenoid? Same thing no?
@AdamAkers2 жыл бұрын
Disconnecting it opens the flaps all the way but they’re still in the way I also ported out my runners making them bigger so I had to completely remove them.
@BurtMegaming2 жыл бұрын
@@AdamAkers im lazy to remove it lol im just gonna disconnect for now and delete the codes
