I have always found the chases like at the beginning very interesting, especially with the difference between the "straighter" railroad and the hilly parallel highway.

This line is amazing. For many miles, the highway runs parallel. It's possible to follow and chase trains most of the time (car traffic permitting).

Hello mbmars 01 A Sunday afternoon with lots of action. Good board radio, two-way trucks, and Superfinal with coal train, and Schiebelok!

+Werner Sievers Absolutely! Lots of interesting things to see. If it's like this, I love to spend a Sunday afternoon at the line.

@mbmars01 Nice catch of the CSX SD70ACe, I think there are 20 CSX EMD SD70ACe's in the fleet. But if PRLX lease company got them, they are...

the dispatcher on the radio cutting in and out sounds like a dispatcher that works the tallahassee sub in North FL.

You don't see CSX SD70ACes very often

That's true; it seems they have only 20 engines of that type.

Has csx sold all of their SD70ACe’s?
@mbmars015 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are lease units now.

Sucks not alot of trains go by Auburn :(. Back 2016 was bussssyy! What's gonna happen to CSX now? Will they recover? Will they merge with another company? I miss seeing these trains :(.
@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
Who knows what's gonna happen to CSX. The 2017 turmoil might well have entered a new stage after EHH's passing away...

what you sup post that MOW truck was working on?
@mbmars018 жыл бұрын
+zippa .way I guess they worked on the switch lever, but from where I was I couldn't clearly see it. There is a small branch track into an industrial area.
@JOINTBAW8 жыл бұрын
+zippa .way o ok so around the curve it splits into 3 tracks?
@mbmars018 жыл бұрын
+zippa .way Yes, behind the crossing, in eastern direction, there is the main track (right), the side track (left), and the industrial track branching off it to the left. But it's only one company there, I think, so I guess that it's actually rarely used.
@JOINTBAW8 жыл бұрын
+zippa .way o ok are there any train yard work areas you could film like showing how they make trains that run threw there?
@mbmars018 жыл бұрын
+zippa .way Well, have you watched my videos from Macon about the NS Brosnan Yard, in particular part 2? It gives some insight into this big yard and at least an idea of how they build trains. It's so cool to see it in real how it works! The video can only give an impression, of course.
