Andy is one of the smartest people I know, I really enjoyed how he manages to answer random questions on the fly without hesitation at all. I am a member of his Go Super Brain site and its awesome along with the weekly emails he sends out. I have learnt a ton from him. Hopefully people can see he has a ton more to offer as most of these questions just scratch the surface and dont go particularly deep-which I think is good if you dont know that much about all of this brain "stuff". Great job everyone.

Loved this episode! I once read a study that just imagining you are lifting can actually make you stronger in itself and that changed how I thought about my brain forever. Even the placebo effect is crazy in a way because it goes against modern medicine because it introduces the idea that you can partly think yourself healthier and it will manifest to a certain extent. The brain is such an insane thing though and when I was working in science I always got told we know relatively little about it. Even the scientists working on it is quite a funny idea - a bunch of brains trying to figure out the brain.

@2:44:11. Not sure if I’ve had a similar response, but when I was a kid I would get tickled a lot and eventually I would just try and not respond to the sensations of being tickled. Now I’m not ticklish and actually enjoy the sensation

I’m a type one diabetic (produce no insulin, autoimmune related) and 10-15 units of insulin is a lot. I don’t know if he’s talking about rapid acting, long acting, or moderate acting NPH. But 10-15 units of rapid, and I bet even long acting, would probably kill a non diabetic. Also, I’d imagine that if a non diabetic uses insulin they’re putting themselves at an increased risk for type 2 diabetes. Again, I’m unsure of what specific type of insulin he’s talking about but I can for sure tell you that 10-15 units of rapid acting is a lot and that would certainly be dangerous to a non diabetic.
