Swamp T. I'm not that experienced of an guitar player. I mostly just strum rhythm and do something that barely pass a singing to myself XD But does it change that much just from one string breaking? From what i have experienced just pushing the strings harder/softer is enough to correct whenever they are in tune but not really 100%. I usually just stop tho and tune my guitar XD I'm not SRV and my finger are not magical :P hehe.
@kevinbowers5128 жыл бұрын

The fact that Stevie was able to keep playing as if nothing had happened, with no noticeable change in tone - I mean...I don't even know what to say. I believe reason why the guitar didn’t go out of tune when the string broke was because his trem was backed up against the body instead of floating. From what I’ve read the number one and Lenny have their terms back again the body while the other strats were floating but correct me if I’m wrong.

Of course I never heard of him and 50 cent just came out and I didn’t care at 15. Unfortunately I never got to share the love for SRV that I now have, but it’s all because of him why I even looked up who this Stevie guy was. Nobody was cooler looking then this guy! @OljeiKhan8 жыл бұрын
My favourite part in the solo is actually the part AFTER he breaks the string. First time i watched this i wasn't watching the video and i liked what i heard so i came back to it and i was really surprised that a string breaks , the guy keeps his cool , the bassist looks at the guitar nervously , he still keeps his cool , plays and finishes the solo just how it needs to be done ; and to top it all off he switches guitars without skipping a single beat. I wish he was still alive so we could be going to his shows to see more of this badassery.

Idk.. I love SRV and I know he plays live. But this one is iffy.. When he strums initially, it's slightly late.. And the sound is clearly coming from the lower strings such as E or A.. But he definitely only strums the high strings such as B or E..and on top of that his left hand wasn't even in position yet to play those notes
@McCready1226 күн бұрын
@@GageDrums I thought the same thing, so I watched it over and over in slow motion. If you slow the speed down to 0.50 you will notice at 3:03 (go to about 3:01 to start it) right after he plugs the amp chord in he quickly hits the D and G strings with a down stroke pauses for a beat then hits the B and E strings, realizes he doesn't have a good handle on the pick, changes his grip on the pick and then goes back up the neck to start strumming again. He knew exact where he was supposed to come in and did it so subtly that it looks like it never happened. I happens so quickly you have to really watch it a few times. The ringing of the strings until he hits the next note at 3:04 is in perfect sync too. At least I think that is the answer.

He changes guitars so smoothly. We were so lucky to have him. His guitar skills are unmatched. Such talent. Gone but never ever forgotten. Rest in Paradise Stevie Ray Vaughan

Between this and the switch during Life Without You at Passaic, SRV has confirmed himself as the king of the quick switch.

I was blessed enough to see him live right before his popularity blew up. To this day it's still the best performance I've ever seen. He played behind his head, behind his back. He switched from an acoustic to an electric guitar mid song without missing a beat. For me he is just the GOAT.

every god damn time i re-watch this i am equally impressed by this entire performance. His voice, his groove, his guitar playing and of course not skippíng a god damn beat as he is changing guitars. Gotta give credit to the guitar tech too, god damn.

That guitar switch was epic, no one else could do it as smooth as Stevie did, and then just kept on playing like nothing happened 🎸

Watch his hands. Focus on how seamlessly he is with his art, skill and music - even with a guitar change. Snap those strings Stevie! Rest in power, genius.

I've watched this, over and over, with absolute joy. What I do - quite well - could hardly be further removed from what Stevie Ray Vaughan did, but the same thing applies: all that matter in the end are the work and commitment in pursuit of excellence. The guy was a master, to his fingertips - because the best possible music really *mattered* to him. That he's still making it matter to the rest of us is a huge legacy.
