Ok I need clarification, it's not ok for your kids to cuddle and lay on their dog? Or did I misunderstand?

There's a difference between cuddling and laying with your dog, and laying on your dog and smothering them. Older, larger dogs can handle kids lying on them, younger or smaller pups not so much.
