Paul was 23 when he wrote the song and it was recorded a month or so before his 24th birthday. Although it is credited to Lennon-McCartney, it was Paul’s song. The only other Beatle to perform on the recording was Ringo. The late Alan Civil (1929-1989) played the horn.

Emmylou first recorded this song in 1974 on her first major album Pieces in the Sky. Today I listened to that on Spotify. Then I listened to the Beatles recording. Make you own comparison. John Lennon and Paul M. cowrote the song. Emmylou appeared at the Whitehouse 36 years later.l
