Batgirl is my favorite figure so far, which would be followed by The Joker Who Laughs and Nightwing. Then again, I've always had a soft spot for Batgirl and I've always been a fan of the character. Otherwise, thanks again Spot!

It makes sense that McFarlane would choose current incarnations of the characters. In terms of costumes I prefer much more this one. It's cooler and more adult accurate. And it's slick. As fun as the other one was seemed too childish (and yes, it's BatGIRL, but she's supposed to be in her early 20s). The Burnside costume seemed like a choice a Robin (from Damian to Tim )would use. Plus, that color would stand out too much for a character like her and in Gotham. This new one takes time but you get use to it. Besides, it wouldn´t make sense to go with a design that´s already gone. For instance, sure, Superman and Batman are in their "traditional" costumes but that´s because the characters went back to that look. McFarlane/DC wouldn´t want (at least for a first time) go with the New 52 versions. ...even I´m amazed that they went with the traditional Harley Quinn. My guess is that because now Harley has many different costumes anyone would have worked...and even then, I´d imagine they´d go with one of the many actual designs. And/or, probably, because of the Birds of Prey movie they wanted to pay tribute to the original version.

Well that is the current Batgirl design so it makes sense they got it released. And it's about time we got something up to date, since Mattel were always 3+ years outdated with the comics.

Don't worry Spot ... McFarlane has said that he plans on doing different versions of each characters pulling from all genres (movies, tv, comics and games). I'm sure Burnside will come. Probably didn't do it since DC Collectibles and Mattel each released a Burnside Batgirl. Give him time.

This is an awesome Batgirl figure. One of the best ever. Possibly even THE best. And that goes for both aesthetics and functionality. Babs done proud. McFarlane has really made some great figures right out of the gate. What a comeback after years of producing endless shit. I enjoy and appreciate your deep backlog of reviews but the excessive whining about employing the (CURRENT!) design choice kills any joy or utility to be gleaned from this particular review.

The problem is that Batgirl of burnside has at this point a lot of figures made already and this design does not. I think it's nice they decided to do this look.

Personally I'm into the Batman figures that McFarlane toys is making since I'm not exactly much familiar with DC, but i am a huge Batgirl fan i can say, my opinion regarding the design is almost the same except i would had either love a classic or even the new batman adventures (or TNBA for some) design for Batgirl, but overall this is my big wish pick for the line and you certainly made a good review out of this figure. I bet McFarlane might take out other versions of Batgirl which of course i do definitely hope so especially with either classic Batgirl or The new batman adventures Batgirl

Maybe its a halloween party and Paula Abdul is dressed up as Batgirl? She looks ok. I like the fact that you build something with the figures reminds me of the first Hellraiser figures. Definitely gets people to get the whole set. I like black stands myself this week atleast. I still haven't picked up the Batman Who Laughs yet every time I see it I think more and more I need it.

I like the figure overall. The only issue I have with her is her cape. Can we get a full sized cape with dramatic flares on it. At least that reaches her lower thighs. I'd love to see a darker figure as in a more serious look. Not Joker like. I'll be waiting for the version of her before I purchase this cartoon version of her. Great review as always.

Ok, I am sorry but if I want a tiny batmobile I would buy a matchbox car over this one. They literally could have sold these figures without the BAF and I would have bought them anyway hoping if down the road they would make a large version that would be like they did with the motorcycle. I do like this figure and growing up like you did listening to Opposites Attract I can see the Paula Abdul here but since I had a crush on her back then I have no issue with this. Lastly, I have a theory about the Batarangs, I do not agree these are made bigger as a safety issue but quite simply because unlike Marvel Legends the MacF toys all appear to use the same hand molds, even with male and female figures, where the last three fingers are connected and the trigger finger is exposed to allow for weapon placement but because most of the weapons are usually kind of on the thick side, Nightwing’s Escrima’s and the Batman Who Laughs knives are two examples of this, they needed to make the baterangs thinker otherwise the figure would not be able to hold them. Just a thought… Oh I have a question though is this the Batgirl that is always at the top of everyone’s “Best MacF figures so far” or have the released another one? Because I just don’t see it.

Spot, what version of Batgirl was it that you wanted again? ;-) TBH, I was getting a little burnt out on the Burnside look from an action figure perspective. We got her in Icons, we got her in Essentials, and we got her in (Mattel’s) DC Multiverse. I really like this new design, and it’s nice to get something different. As for the resemblance to Paula Abdul, that would explain why I like Batgirl’s portrait so much. I’ve had a crush on Paula since 1989.

The interesting concept behind the mini Bat mobile is that Todd wants to release SEVERAL different Bat mobile models from T.V to Movies and comics. He said that he pictures a shelf full of different Bat mobiles. I'm intrigued by the concept ... and the fact that it only takes 3 figures as opposed to 6 is appealing too.

The one thing that bothers me about Batgirl is the lack of protection around damn skull. Also having flowing hair is cool,but in a world of forensics, lose hair seems like a liability if you're trying to keep your indentity. Can we get a Cassandra Cain Batgirl? I do like Sean Murphys art of course.

Best figure in the entire wave. All the others unfortunately are trash. At least batgirl makes me look forward to the other female figures. As far as the design my favorite is the classic and new 52 batgirl. I’m not a Burnside fan at all sorry bro lol. But I’m happy to have a very sexy looking highly articulated batgirl. Too bad the other figures came out the way they did.

My guess is that DC and McFarlane wanted to push Sean Gordon Murphy. He’s kinda their rockstar writer right now. Between the White Knight line and this design/card, he may be what they wanted to push. And Scott Snyder with all the Dark Knights stuff. But those are just my guesses. I don’t know. I don’t work for DC

Marvel Legends IMO having looked at them are slightly interior. I believe there's room in the figure market for higher quality head sculpts with a smaller manufacturing counts.

Sculpt is cool, albeit a weirdly 'too-small' head (again). This is probably the absolute worst Batgirl costume design of all versions, IMO. 'Burnside' version would have had my money...this one won't.
