And initially, I thought the hard step was the step to get the ferrule perfectly placed, turned down and polished to meet the McGolf standard of excellence. Kidding, of course. I remain in awe of the ferrule work you do. Great video!

Great video!! nobody else breaks it down in such intricate detail when talking golf clubs. Thanks for the time and effort.. As a p790 player myself, i am still somewhat jealous at the McGolf treatment Brandon got. Quick question, which compound did you apply to the club at the end of the video? and why?

Your “secret answer” to your weight problem....its Wishon weights! They will fit inside of that hosel just like Tom designs his irons, I am guessing.

Bandit Baker I’m sure TM will be using this design going forward. It is a very nice club

Awesome content. Man, those clubs have to be really heavy compared. Question: do you love it when you learn something new? Have a great one. See you later this month.

Jim, I thought that the hozel and back are forged and the face is welded on the P790

What do you put in the PW when hard stepping? Another PW shaft? So it will play a little softer? Thanks

wondering the same

I had a CF for iron shafts yesterday. Just to see if there was any better than my $-Taper 120 Stiff. Tge fitter told me if I wanted a slightly stiffer club I could hard step them. How much stiffer will them be? The fitter said that it will get stiff like a S+ but without the extra weight as the 125 S+. Q1: How will the PW shaft play? Could it be as long as the 9 iron? Q2: Could I just hard set 7,8,9 and leav the 5 and 6 as is? Is it common to just hard step mid/low irons? Q3: Can you tip trim a tapered shaft/tip?

Did you use a collared ferrule for this build? Is there a particular style of ferrule that you need for the p790?

130 hardsteped, d5. My forearms hurt thinking about that.

Just curious, from a club build point of view, the tip weight that you used seemed to be aprox. .5 to .75 inch long. Doesn't that compromise the the amount of hosel depth that you need for proper epoxy?
@McGolf4 жыл бұрын
kate mark the weight goes inside the hosel. It is not in the way of the epoxy

What were the head weights if you dont mind sharing? I'm always looking for lightweight heads for over length builds.

Curious why you aren’t a big taylormade guy. Cause I’m not either. My reasons come from their marketing side of things and always seemingly needing to make one more gimmick that outdoes the previous year. Curious what you dislike as well
@McGolf4 жыл бұрын
Skylar Steel it’s not that I dislike them, some of their designs are solid much like most OEMs have goods and bad. At the time some of the folks running the place and I didn’t agree on business models. That and their rep has yet to visit where other have and we like relationships with vendors.

I thought a hard-step was when I have to walk up to an elevated green?
