Hi everyone! I'm an American from the Northeast (New England). I want to create a watering hole for people who want to discuss, learn and teach about history through KZbin videos which you guys recommend to me through the comment section or over on Discord. They have to finish on a "double"! If they have a bad 'situation' left after poor darts, they can go over the required score and they get nothing for that round and go for the same score next throw.

You'll often see players leaving themselves on 32 to finish (double 16) simply because if they hit single 16, then 16 is left (double 8) If they hit single 8, then double 4 is available and so on to double 2. It's the only route that offers this repeated margin for error. Hope this helps. Great channel.

They start on 501. They can only reach 0 with hitting an odd number. Using the 19 and 17 is a good way of removing the '1' . Especially treble 17 which is 51. When the change to shoot for those numbers they are still looking to the trebles of them numbers. Sometimes if there is 2 darts in the treble 20 they will go for the 19s or the 17s to avoid knocking the other darts out or as I said to get their score to an even number. I'm guessing darts isn't popular over in the US. Here in UK, well maybe in local town pubs, but you can go to a pub and there will be a dartboard. Usually there will be a few sets of darts behind the bar, and a few sets that belong to the 'regulars' of that pub. And if there is a couple of people in that pub you'll be able to play anyone who's interested. If not just ask for the darts and start practising. Within 5 minutes someone will ask if you would like a game.

Also, if they throw a dart that blocks the view of the treble 20, they go for the next highest treble, which is the treble 19 ... that's why they switch it up.

You just watched the rules and learned you have to finish at 0 with your last dart being a double. He had 20 left so his last dart would have to be double 10, but he hit 10 meaning that he 10 left so had to hit a double 5. He hit 5 leaving 5 left. There is no double that scores 5. So he used his last dart to 'bust' and score over what was needed putting him back to 20.

Players will often practice particular doubles and score specific numbers to leave their favourite doubles When throwing for treble twenty if the dart thrown obstructs the next they will go for treble 19

You have to finish on a double. But if you need 50 you can finish on the bullseye . Some competitions require you to start with a double as well as finish ,and you don't start scoring till you hit one.

You can only finish on a double or the bull and even though the bull is a novelty, it's not really something people like to have left at the end. You could intentionally waste two darts I suppose but at this level of quality it's something you won't ever see because by the time they get to something like 170 remaining (treble 20, treble 20, bull) or 160 (change the bull for finishing on a double 20), the other player is usually right on a similar score so they'll aim for what will give them 2/3 chances of finishing on the next go and try to avoid having to aim at something like 11 on the left-hand side or 6 on the right-hand side, most players get used to aiming for the top (5-20-1) or the bottom (19-3-17).

Just look at the scoreboard on screen. It tells you at the left side the combination needed to finish.

If a player is not on a finish he always aims for treble 20, unless it is blocked by a dart, then they switch to 19 and then 18 if 19 gets blocked.

He couldn't go for 5 again. He needed 10 (double 5) but he hit the 5, leaving him with 5, but he only had one dart left ... You can't finish on 5 with 1 dart (you need 1 double 2, or 3 double 1 etc) .. So he intentionally bust by hitting a higher number than 5, so that on his next go, he was back to 10 again ... When you hit more than you need, you bust, and you go again.

Before you find a board to try...watch the position of the throwing arm! That's the key to all success. followed by eyesight and muscle-memory! Sometimes you're doing badly on triple 20 (or your first dart is blocking the field), so triple 19 and triple 17 might be well-scoring options lower on the board. 5:20 He's left himself 5 to get...(there's no double to make 5) so he prefers to 'bust' his turn and start the next throw back at 20. Darts is one of the games that keeps the British pub alive. We never really understood why it's not popular in the states.

In order to win you need to throw a double and that is why he did not go for another 5. Also a lot of competitors like to go gor a nine dart finish, the eqivalent to a 147 in Snooker

U said why can’t he go for single 8 again cause it goes down to 4 ....he’s on 16 so he going for double 8 ,he misses but goes inside so hits a single 8 so now he’s left with 8 so now he’s on double 4 ...and so on if he hits inside again that would be 4 hit left with 4 now on double 2 ..if he misses the board then still hitting same shot as before ..when your watching Connor look at the combinations it gives u at side of names ,it tells you what they be going for ...so if a player has got 40 left it will tell you he’s going for double 20 ...or if he on 16 it will say double 8 ...hopefully that helps a bit ..

at 5.21 with 2 darts left he was on double 5, by hitting a 5 he can no longer finish with the 1 remaining dart as he has 5 left and no such number as double 2.5. He could have hit a 1 and left double 2 for his next go, but instead decided to "bust" his score and go back to being on 20.

This is such a simple game. Get you score down to exactly zero with the fewest throws possible, once you get to at least 170 three darts will do it, if you get to a three dart finish total and miss your first treble make sure you leave a double for your next visit. When they keep throwing for what seems to you like random numbers all they are doing is maths, working out what number they want to check out with next visit. They all have favorite doubles so will always try to leave that if they can. Also if a dart partially blocks the treble 20 they will go to treble 19 as a cover shot as treble 19 is the second highest treble.

The numbers and the scores are right thereon the screen clearly showing you the best way to win. How can you still not understand it? It tells you right there on the screen and it's not even small. The commentators are telling you just incase you some how can not see the onscreen graphics telling you what darts are needed. Makes my piss boil how some people can not do the simplest things like looking at a screen.
