Mclaren's weren't too appealing to me, but after seeing them up close and on Tims videos they have started to grow on me, although the interior still seems a little bare. Can we see some reaction videos like you did with the 12c Tim? Loved those videos.

Not having any chance in my life to even try such a car as the 650S, i made the McLaren 650S in Forza Horizon look as close to the new Shmeemobile as i could. But it seems that i'm not the only one, as most of the 650S's i meet while racing or driving are the color of your car. I think it's safe to say that you've influenced the content of a hugely popular game. If you ever think about visiting the Åland Islands (between Finland and Sweden) i would love to meet you and see the car you're driving. There's not much to see here, besides the beautiful nature, but this islands has the most cars per person in all of Finland and while there are only 25000 people living there, we have cars like the 458, Bentley Flying Spur and Mulsanne and Tesla Model S here, in addition to all the "more normal" cars...

During this phase when you can step back and say comfortably to yourself, "Money well spent on a car supercar"- you know you will be happy with it for 4+yrs.

There are two features in the 12-C that I would change, if the new ones didn't already change them. One is the window buttons on the driver side arm rest, that the elbow has a tendency to touch, which lowers the passenger door window. Number two is the shift buttons mounted on the flat surface on the center divider, that when you want to use them, you have to look down to see where they are. After a while you get used to them but still, they would be in a better location if they were mounted on an upper vertical surface where just a glance, instead of having to move your head to look down. Other than that, the car is perfect. On the other hand, you can never have too much horse power so I had the Car tuner, Hyper Fast Cars bring up the power, now the car is MORE perfect. lol

Pure performance has its own thrill, of that there is no doubt, but there’s some emotion still lacking in the 650S. I got to the end of several fast runs feeling in awe of and slightly giddy with the speed, but not elated and grinning at the driving experience. I think a big part of the problem is the sound. The turbocharged engine simply doesn’t make a noise that you crave. There’s supposedly a new cylinder cut on upshifts when you’re in Sport mode, but sadly I couldn’t really detect the added drama it was meant to add and although overall it’s not a bad sound being piped into the cabin, you won’t lie awake at night longing for the next time you hear it. That's what Evo magazine said, which is why a lot of people would choose a Ferrari I guess.

As for 650s, it seems really undertoned compared to other supercars and I would have bought a aventador since it is just an outrageous statement to the world (look at me) whereas 650s feels like a younger baby to the p1

Hey Shmee, 2 little questions: when you drop the roof how is it in the cabin? Is it windy? At what speed there's too much turbulence? Mercedes use an ugly system to decrease it for ex. And about ground clearance? Since the car is low even with lift system up, what's the maximum angle the car can possible do going up when it's in underground garage?

Wait a minute, didnt you buy a used 650S? I noticed when you first sat on it in the dealer showroom that it got almost 2000 miles. How can it have 2000 miles on the odometer and you claimed you customized it to your liking? Can a used 650S be shipped back to Woking, dismantled and re-optioned? McLaren probably the first manufacturer that do that, top marks to them.

+B007 Dealerships can locate cars with specific color combinations and options in their new pre-owned inventory, its a shared server between all dealerships within the country so that dealers can trade inventory based on customer choices. Tim(Shmee) wanted a Mantis Green 650S Spider with Leather/Alcantara interior and the Extended Carbon Fiber package, so they located one and had it sent to Mclaren Manchester, or the car was in the CPO inventory at Mclaren Manchester when Tim went in to go buy one and got a good deal on what was basically a new car. No car manufacturer would take a car back to the factory and re-option it, it would be too expensive on both the owner's part and the manufacturers part. You can have certain parts exchanged through certain auto shops and, however it would be insanely expensive as to compared to ordering from factory.

Tim I'm sorry but sometimes you seem like you don't know how badass this car is... Nothing will beat this car besides the "big three" ,some Gtrs and really really few other modified cars. No other car on the market is better than this overall (again besides the big three) I am sick of 458 fanboys and Lp700 lovers. Both of these cars are much slower than the 650s and don't belong in the same "close to hypercar" category. They are good but you are as close as it gets to 918 Niveau. In my Op only thing you should consider now is getting track lessons ! cheers

The only problem I have with this car is that it looks like McLaren have cut the P1 and 12c in half and stuck them together. It looks like 2 cars in one, not one unique car. Also in the mantis green it looks a bit like a grass hopper. Apart from these issues, the car is brilliant, partly because it's British. Although if I had the money, I would put it in the Ferrari F12.
