My friend will tell you that I have a 3.73 gear with this same cluch and they make the same noises, the manufacturer always says it is for this noise but it is as you say the important thing is that it holds all the power although in truth if I feel uncomfortable sometimes because people will think that the car is broken or has something loose lol very good video brother.

Thank God for.this video man. I was starting to get worried about all the noises. Specially taking off at low RPMs on any gear 🤦🏼♂️👍🏼
@eb110americana5 жыл бұрын
@Chris Lee : Thank you so much for this video. It is exactly what I have been looking for, as it's the only one with noise occurring outside of idle. That 40 MPH vibration is exactly what I am experiencing at below 2000 RPMs with anything over minimal throttle. It can happen at any speed if the RPM is low enough. The reason this info is so valuable to me, is that I just built a whole new engine and I have been wringing my hands for a couple months now, that maybe I screwed something up in the rotating assembly, like the bearings. Thank God it is just the clutch! My driveline setup is similar to yours in many ways. And different in one huge way: it's in a 1998 Trans Am. My motor is an LS3 with lightened crank, rods, pistons, ported heads, cam, etc. I have an aluminum Fidanza flywheel, the RST, a T56 Magnum with 2.97 (1st) and 0.50 (6th) and carbon synchros, a carbon fiber driveshaft, a 3.25:1 Ford 9", and a watts link. The 9" also uses a tubular torque arm which mounts to the trans cross brace. As I said, my car will rattle a little at stoplights, but I could live with that. You notice it more when there is a wall or car next to you for the sound to bounce back your way. Another reviewer demonstrated that if you let the clutch out slowly at a stop, you will have no rattle as you sit in neutral. But if you give it any kind of gas below 2000 RPM in 3rd or above, it sounds like the engine is going to throw the rods in 8 different directions. Identical sound to your video. The harder you press, the louder the noise until the RPMs climb. That, I cannot live with. Worse yet, with my tall 6th gear which is great for helping highway fuel economy, the whole car vibrates with a rhythmic "thrum" if you use 6th under 75mph unless it's off-throttle, like downhill. After watching this video, and am confident that I will be selling my RST and flywheel after the break in cycle (only about 400 miles on everything so far). I'm pretty certain that I will instead go with a Katech LS9X kit which includes an aluminum conversion flywheel to mount the C6 Corvette ZR1's twin-disk clutch and slave cylinder to any LS engine. It's basically a similar twin-disk to the RST, but engineered with dampener springs on each clutch disk, so there is no vibration. The issue is not actually from the floater plate, but the solid clutch disks passing the low RPM vibrations directly into the transmission and driveline. The springs absorb that in a stock setup, and most aftermarket single disks. Again, thanks--showin' some GM love to the Ford guy.

Yes I have the same problem with my gearing 3.07, I have a 66 El Camino with a 9 inch. This weekend I will be changing to 3.55, like you say in 1 to 1 there is chatter plus RPM to low I got to go the third gear. I hope with the 3.55 at one to one my RPM will be higher to get ride of the chatter and luging the engine. So yea did the math I am changing gears, my transmission is an M-22 with 2.2 first. For road racing on Kauai Hawaii it is very good, I like to sneak up on you guys ideally get you to go to a lower gear when you shift I am gone, by by. Automatic/AC/Power Everything is For Sissies

How much life can you or did you get out of this clutch with spirited and or daily driving? Is it still holding up bc some of the reviews turned me off. Like replacing it after 5k miles?! I currently have the Mcloud street extreme single disc that was installed with slave and master cylinders July 2021. My pedal went to the floor shifting from 4th to 5th and I got locked out of all my gears. I think it’s the slave but while the trans is out I wanted to upgrade or have one on hand just incase it is the clutch. I have a 2011 I’m setting up for roush 2300 with my stock mt82. Full bolt on with x pipe and deletes super loud and 3.73 gears. I was told to go back to stock but I don’t want rpm lock out. I want to give it all the beans when I want to.

@Airman..3 жыл бұрын
@@alexxxx677 i dobut that very much, its a std design, you can call them an ask though, just beware of the twin clutch middle plate rattle in idling, IMO its obnoxious and i never came across someone mentioning it in reviews, also the clutch is unforgiving in low rpm take off like the oem, it wants to be revved up so it engages in a smooth manner, other than that i pushed the car to 800 whp no problems. Hope this helps

I can tell, though he’s saying that the noise really doesn’t bother him, you can tell it really does. I bet you before the end of this year, he’ll have that car changed back to the way it almost was when he first started it. Because at his age, you don’t want to daily drive a car that noisy, even if you are just driving it twice a week. Because It’s bad enough dealing with a bunch of loud mouth’s at work, much less getting in a car at the end of the day that’s going to make your head pound off! I know he loves driving the car, but I also know he can’t wait to get out of that thing, and get back into his other daily driver for a little piece and relaxation.

I'm about to buy a t56 and rxt with their steel flywheel as second gear decided it was done.
