Huge captain’s performance from Bruno. Also I saw something from all the team I haven’t since Martinez came to town, players constantly communicating, celebrating bocks and tackles together, even celebrating chances together, Scott & Antony picking each other up! Fantastic attitude, need to keep it up

Bruno... mate he is our most talented player and our biggest problem. Watch the guy try to complete a short pass. It goes to our players knees, or behind where they are running, or into a blind alley. If Bruno doesn't give the ball away ( awful pass completion btw ) he'll put the next player in a rubbish position to then give the ball away. No patterns of play as it ends with him. Still, a great talent just lacks awareness and causes us to constantly play counter attack as we can't keep the ball.

Hojlund would have had 5 goals in the league by now if people had just squared it to him on the 6 yard line rather than shot or crossed to someone else. McT's hatrick chance tonite was another example. He's clearly better on the break but with a bit of work he can be a poacher too.. he does get in good positions.

You could tell garnacho has been told to run the line and use his left foot more. Definitely needs work on that but nice to see him working on his game and he never gives up. Everyone was slating mctominay and saying he should never play for us. He’s definitely not a Scholes but he’s the only player you can rely on to score for us. Just needs a system that works for him and Bruno together. Maguire has been the most consistent player this season, certain people still can’t admit that though.

Both teams had 12 fouls and we got 4 yellows to 0 yellows for Chelsea. That ref needs to be sat down for the weekend. Its like he decided not to book a Chelsea player before the game started. They had a lot of cynical fouls and no yellows.

Hojlund is a kid and ideally he should be playing cup games and getting 15 mins here and there… I think he did well against Chelsea, he holds the ball up, links well with the wingers, allows them space in the box, with time his positioning will improve as his partnership with the others and his IQ improves. If he walked into this team on fire like we were from December -feb last year, he is banging in goals.

What was most pleasing is you could see the team work as a unit, Bruno & Mctominay closed the space in midfield & give Amrabat help. Amrabat was excellent at keeping composed, his energy, passing & tenacity. Dalot/Shaw/Reguillon were great going up & down & on the overlap The front 3 were well balanced, worked very hard in the press & tracking back. Maguire was solid. Only Lindelof & Onana should have had more concentration. The best weve played since we beat spurs at home last season!! ETH got it all right today...tactical set up worked well...but we have to do this EVERY game. Bruno was brilliant, everywhere despite his shoddy pen.

Some fans diss Scott McTominay and say he should leave etc. Whatever. Jose and every manager since has chosen Scott as a regular, plus he is usually chosen for Scotland. They must see something in the kid that others miss. Okay, he's not the GOAT and he's no DM either, but he's not 'sh!t' either. Worth keeping around really. I'd like to see more recovery sprints from him though. He is pretty quick to get in the box and poach etc. Not as quick getting back to our box as he could be. That would improve his game. Garnacho is mint huh? I hope he keeps improving. With more strength as he gets older and experience the kid could end up being lethal and just about unplayable. Lots of pros from that match, but a few cons too. We looked like Swiss cheese and too open. Not as organized as we need to be. A more clinical opponent would have punished us for that. Andre Onana saved our bacon too. Clean thru on goal and Andre made the save. More of that please and less of the stuff that makes my blood pressure go sky high. I'm getting too old for that and do not need our keeper just about giving me a stroke (MUFC supporter since the 1970s)

I saw a lot of negatives in the match still. Garnacho was great getting into the box. But then wasteful. The crossing is still not as good as it should be. They're not using Hojllund. He can score some of those chances. He did well to put pressure though. Rashford wasn't a good substitution. They're shaky at the back. Amrabat was good but he can't do it by himself.

People keep saying how bad man utd were against Newcastle and how bad Chelsea were against them, I watched the game last night and the difference was Newcastle wouldn't let either of their players get on the ball they were straight in at them and never let up with the high press. Suppose it's a benchmark only conceding one against them as opposed to three that Chelsea did. ETH SET UP Different this time and left Rashford on the bench and had more attacking flair and that's the difference of playing at home.

Rashford needs to find himself right down the pecking order... If he had lost the the dressing room , then maguire and awb wouldn't of got there heads down and done what was required to and doing what was being asked, rashford needs to take a leaf out of those players and earn his place back... Let’s be honest, the team played their socks off as a whole and that has to be mainly down to Rashford being on the bench.. really he’s the only one that didn’t start today from Newcastle game and yes Martial also didn’t start/played today but he doesn’t play most games and we’re still shit and the only common denominator is Rashford.. I think if we have to, Rashford has to be a backup striker for the next few games at least. Him on the wing is a liability when he doesn’t like running or tracking

We need to relax, we still haven’t beaten a team inside the top 9 away from home. It’s easy for this group to get up for a game at home in front of 70 thousand. I'd agree that last night was our best performance, it would have been Copenhagen but we fell apart once rashford was ridiculously sent off, which was a joke of a decision, but what I'm saying is that it's a tiny sample size and that when he came on we were going to be more panicky as it was the 85th minute, the time period in which Chelsea were always going to start pushing more as they were losing. I've not once defended or mentioned his work rate or previous performance.
