This was an hymn! Wonderful song. "In violent times You shouldn't have to sell your soul In black and white They really, really ought to know"

Dude is a TEARS for FEARS fan and I cant blame him. That song is iconic - one of the biggest of the decade and for good reason. Keep up the good work.

I’m a 70 year old woman, and you’re quickly becoming one of my favorite reactors. Love Tears for Fears! Mad World, and The Tipping Point next!! The Tipping Point was written by Roland, inspired by watching his wife slip away by dementia brought by her battle with alcoholism. Great song and video.

I love the original version of Mad World. I am still a big fan of early seventies prog rock, after the punk and new wave late seventies, I felt bands such as Tears for Fears and Spandau Ballet were a welcome return to great compositions. Oh, and 64 here.... :-)

They have a newish album out, "The Tipping Point", first one in 17 years. I've seen Roland and Roland and Oleta, but I've never been lucky enough to see Curt and Roland together. That said, I am crazy about Roland and TFF.

Mad World was my favourite song for a time in the 80's, always loved TFF. The time from around '62 - '87 produced some brilliant original sounding music and I think as time passes will be considered the greatest period of modern music. Now it is extremely difficult to be original and much of the music of today is overproduced, IMHO.

Favorite song? Hard to say, really, because they are all so good, but I love Elemental, Break It Down Again, The Working Hour and Raoul and the Kings of Spain. One of my absolute favorite bands. And they came out with a new album in 2022 which was pretty incredible too. Check out the title track, The Tipping Point.

Another shot of musical mastery. I may have mentioned that all of their songs are masterpieces ❤ With this song and album, they cemented their place as the biggest band of their time, I’d say. It was a game-changer. At least here in the UK. 😊

This has been a soundtrack in my life since it came out when I was 27. It’s taken on different meanings throughout the years, based on what I’ve been going through. “Tears for Fears” put out powerful music. Relatable.

Shout is one of my all time favorite songs of all time 🥰 Please do Mothers Talk and Head over Heals from them as well. And I bet you have heard Mad World before. If not by them, it was covered quite often (but nothing bests their original version)

I'm loving your reviews, my favourite TFF is Woman In Chains, but there have been so many great songs. I like how you spoke about different genres in the same song, if you want to hear TFF really go to town on a song, try Badman's Song, they go through all sorts of genres including Gospel and Jazz, they take you to church on that song, unfortunately there isn't an official video and the live performance doesn't really do the song justice.
