Meade lx-70 series dual axis motor kit

I now have both the RX70 mount with motor kit and R5 scope. Much better and easier to use then my Orion ST 120 on my Celestron CG4 mount. Watching your videos helped me decide. Had it out for the first time Sat night and very happy with it.

Yes there is a thumb release for the RA also.

Very nice looking mount! I noticed on the DEC drive gear, it has a thumb wheel gear release in case you want to use the slow motion knob. Is there the same on the RA, or is the motor connected with a direct coupling and therefore can only adjust RA with the hand controller?

Oh yes!! Will support up to 20lb scope with no issues,very strong and smooth mount..

I have one and yes it is very sturdy. Wish I could find a motor drive kit for it.

Does this 5 incher really suck in the light? I am in dark sky Arizona and on a clear night there is a lot to see.

yes!!! this scope operates more like a 6 inch scope,very impressive detail with little false color.

How long did you hunt for your motor drive for the Meade LX70. Been searching all's I have seen is Orion and Celestron. I think the hunt is going to be awhile.
