Definitely going to make that French toast bake for Breana’s breakfast. That’s the only thing I ever really meal prep. Because we generally have leftover dinner for lunch the next day and then I cook dinner every night. fruit for snacks, cheese, crackers meat sticks, simple snacks! I do make out a 10 day menu before I shop but I go through my cupboards, freezer and fridge first!

HI Kristi! I make the french toast casserole quite a bit. You know, you can eat that for dessert too. I do it all the time. Now I want to make another one. I don't eat syrup but what I do do, is I will take some of my sugar free preserves with a couple of drops of water and stick it in the microwave. I may just do that tomorrow since my next surgery is Friday. It was supposed to be last Wednesday. I was all prepped, in my designer gown, lol, and had my iv in, and the dr came around the corner(he never does this so I knew), There was an issue. The wrong supplies were sent, so I got sent home and rescheduled.

How was the French toast casserole? To me it seems it would be mushy. I have started to struggle with textures and mushy is one of them. Looks soooo good!
@PlanningUsHealthy3 жыл бұрын
It was really good!! But it's definitely french toast consistency - which I would describe as like a spongy wet cake, if that makes any sense. LOL So, I'm thinking if you're having issues with textures, that might not be one you'd like. It's really good though. I wonder if you could just cook it longer or use less half and half.

I have used premier protein drinks before, but never in oats! I've heard they're really good that way. I think I may try that!! I tried the caramel kind in my coffee before. :)

@@PlanningUsHealthy I would definitely give it a try I have done it without the PB too and just on the caramel it really is a good caramel flavor I haven't tried any other flavors yet cuz I only usually buy the caramel it's my favorite

I wonder what the French Toast casserole would taste like with apples? I think that sounds good. If you get a chance to respond, you have mentioned it before, but I can't remember what kind of sugar free barbecue sauce do you use? I am not a fan of G Hughes. I thought you mentioned a different one.

We had the French toast casserole yesterday OMG...I could eat that each meal of each day! I’m on purple and used SF Almond milk. Did that change the points?
@PlanningUsHealthy3 жыл бұрын
I want to try it as a dessert too - maybe a little whipped cream on top! YUM!! And from my estimation, it would decrease the points by 2!! For 2.5 cups of fat-free half and half split into 6 portions, that's 2 points per serving. For 2.5 cups of unsweetened almond milk split into 6, that's 0 points per serving. 😀

@PlanningUsHealthy3 жыл бұрын
Yes, this kind has a small amount of sugar.
@debraperez38603 жыл бұрын
@@PlanningUsHealthy ok, that explains it. Ty Great meal prep, BTW. 5 point breakfast is kind of high points for us, but I think I'll try the french toast recipe and make 12 servings and pair with something 0 point.
@PlanningUsHealthy3 жыл бұрын
@@debraperez3860 Thanks so much!! Yeah, it was a big portion so you could definitely make it into 12. I know someone who used unsweetened almond milk instead of half and half, which brought it down to 3 points per serving. She said it turned out good that way too!
