I almost woke the house up laughing so hard at Sgt Slaughter talking about the thousands of military people in the soil and that his mother is buried in the same soil and Gene had to back out because he couldn’t hide his laughter, only returning wiping tears from his face. So funny!
@thomass789
@thomass789 4 жыл бұрын
I don't think he was wiping tears from his face, I think he was pretending to continually dry his face off, as a rib to tease Slaughter about his unintentionally spitting on people when he talks to them because of his lisp. It was a known thing back in the 80's that Slaughter would unintentionally have spit flying out of his mouth during promos and the boys would joke about it. I forget who, but in one of the shoot videos someone was joking that they use to want to wear goggles when talking to Slaughter, because he would lisp-spit often. LOL

"So many characters" Truer words have never been spoken. Too many wrestlers these days are too generic, but back then and during the Attitude Era, the wrestlers seemed more diverse in terms of gimmicks and personalities. Gene's son was a NHL player who went to college at Minnesota and even after he left the AWA for WWF Gene would hold court in downtown Minneapolis pubs like Runyon's and Monte Carlo of Friday afternoons. He was a blast and there weren't many women half his age that didn't garner his attention. He was a hedonistic man of the 70s/80s for sure.
