So that insurance story is a hoot! Geico like most corporations states in its contracts that all disputes must go to arbitration. They do this because it's way easier to manipulate the outcome. An arbiter's ruling is legally binding and final. For reasons that only the arbiter knows, he sided with the plaintiff. So Geico naturally appeals the ruling. But because the appellate judge can only rule on the legality of the arbitration process and not the ruling itself (again, it's final), he finds that arbiter did not violate procedure an the ruling was allowed to stand. Now Geico is appealing the appellate decision in federal court. I love it because the whole arbitration B.S. is designed to make it easier for corporations to screw over litigants with genuine complaints. Here we have a litigant with a frivolous complaint who was forced into arbitration by those same contract requirements and backfired spectacularly.

Interesting point. It's also quite frankly bizar that the insurance apparently does not mention that the damage has to by cause by the car. Anyway, they will fight this, it will be turned over because it's obviously stupid, the company will add much much more detailed wording to what they insure and what they doi not, and the arbiters will be out of a job, forcing people to go to court where the company will probably allways win because they can afford the lawyers. This reminds me of the case where a woman put a hot cup of coffeein her lap in her car and drive off, got scalded and accused the restaurant of serving coffee thast was too hot. It makes me wonder how the US ever even made it to the 21 century....

@@vinny142 that's not what happened. most people think it is because of corporate propaganda. but she was in the passenger seat, the car wasn't moving, and the coffee actually was too hot (literally almost boiling, she needed skin grafts for burns to her legs and genitals, and mcd's was fully aware and hadn't fixed this even though about 700 other people also reported burns). all she wanted was for her medical bills to be paid. it's a heartbreaking case, the full details are online if you have time to look it up.

To be fair, position players really aren't supposed to try to throw real pitches. Not only do they not know much about how to do it, but their arms aren't prepared for it. They're really just there because somebody has to and the team has given up on the game and doesn't want to burn anyone else in the bullpen. Ideally they get it over the plate so that someone eventually gets out, but that's pretty much the beginning and end of the job.

@@Marijuanifornia Basically, a stylized squid as drawn by a child. Oh, the show is not stupid. It's very well written, especially the first 2 episodes, though it has its flaws and the writing gets less good as it's going on (and there's a whole character/subplot that has been shoehorned in it for padding, and eventually it shows). It speaks about serious societal topics in a compelling "entertainment" way, the characters are all somewhat endearing, even the ones who are annoying, most of the actors are great in it (not all, though, but kudos to the main girl, she did a terrific job for her first role), the 6th episode makes everyone cry lol, and overall, the pacing and direction work very well. I don't have an habit of liking stupid things (I'm a former cinema student), and I can't stand when people love something just because everyone else like it, since I try to judge works on their own merits, and I really liked it. Is it "THE BEST THING EVAAAAR"? No, but it's really good and I'm glad it got the success it got, it was well deserved IMHO. And sure, it's not the most original thing either, there have been other Korean films about the economic inequalities in South Korea, and we had movies about characters having to survivre deadly traps or playing a game with life-of-death stakes before (Cube, Saw, Battle Royale...), but this TV show makes its own thing with it.

Jennifer Lopez comes across as a thin-skinned diva 95% of the time. I still remember her temper tantrum over how she was portrayed on South Park. Someone with her looks, talent and wealth should also have enough class to be able to share the spotlight. For the record, I feel the same way about male celebrities. Kanye West is another example of a celebrity with an ego so massive it overshadows his talent.
