Why is this comforting my fear of death more than stuff that’s actually supposed to comfort me
@whitemagus20008 ай бұрын
Mixed with the terror of death and no longer existing is the innate knowledge that it's alright. That this is supposed to happen. Strangely, as the last neurons fire in your brain, as it senses death, it floods your brain with with endorphins giving you a sense of euphoria and peace. You'll see a tunnel of light and feel calm. There is currently no theory, according to Darwinian evolution, as to how or why we would evolve a trait that doesn't improve your survival chances and only applies in the last few moments of life. Well, whether a nonsensical feat of evolution, or whether someone put it there for us, you can at least know that your last moment isn't going to be one of pain and terror.

In defense of Gru, the minions are a species that have existed for millions of years as seen in the movies, so it's not like he created them to be like this. It is simply nature and he's the farmer. Many creatures sacrifice themselves for their children before they die.

This speaks a lot about mortality. The crowds gathering around the dying minion, showing they aren’t a sad species, because they know this isn’t the end. Gru taking the Minion Elder on his final day, and ending in a beautiful forest. The direct comparison between life and death is beautiful too. Showing that while on thing is ending, more things will go on to do greater, better things.

"beautiful" "wholesome" /facepalm I need to get out of here. So many people just full of shit so they can say "something nice" and cure their own need for validation. Beautiful? Which part? The teeth bursting out of the dead minions skull? Their march from the factory? The circle of minion life as described by Meatcanyon? The last one...maybe. Wholesome? Which part...the part where we watched an aged minion lay down naked on a forest floor and starve themselves to death? How about when Felonious almost snorted a minion like Tanjiro snorted that one guy. It was neither, you started writing your comment for social validation, and didn't even watch his show. Your community is a toxic one...I am honestly impressed with what this creator puts up with and filters out. You heard a David Attenborough impression, and those were the words that came to mind when you immediately took to the comment section in an effort of "NOTICE ME SEMPAI!!!". I'm not kidding, I wouldn't care about any of you flakes. If you are kids, well that's just wrong, his shit is clearly not for kids so you should probably speak up.

@@SpringDavid That makes some really odd sense that Gru would take an interest in them. He researches their species and helps give them higher survivability and in turn they help him out around the lab and do housechores. They aren't a low intelligence species, but their understanding does not go above that of an adolescent child due to their brain capacity and they aren't an aggressive or predatory species. Think something like the Oompa Loompas from Willy Wonka. However, they can still learn how to do complex things and even have their own language. I guess I just like to theorize and make up background information on fictional beings. Especially since the Minions are a semi-intelligent species, but what they lack in size or strength, they make up for in ingenuity.
