That's cool you were in the Tok area. It's kind of mind-blowing just how large those management areas are. Like I flew into Fairbanks last year to fight a fire that was in the Tok management area in a village called Fairway, which is still loosely called Tok. The amount of huge sheds out there in the valley is almost overwhelming. I think most of the game stayed away because of all the bears though. The whole two weeks dropped in with no access to civilization, we saw no moose, elk, deer, or caribou. Just bears. We finally saw a moose driving out on highway 2. The whole time, I just wanted to be in the Yukon or in the Brooks Range with those giant glaciers you can see flying in. That terrain looks a lot more bearable than the tussocks.

I bet he could help Steve figure out other ways to solve some of the different cooking problems associated with different game meats. They're both funny as heck and specialize in creating new recipes and are definitely open to new experiences like hunting, as you can tell from their Netflix cooking shows, "The Chef Show" and "Ugly Delicious". I bet Steve could take them on a hunt based around what type of game they want to experiment with and make 2 episodes out of it! Take care y'all!

Willow is bitter. What you should've grabbed is some alder and used that as a sort of grill

For the field ribs, you can always wrap them in a bit of foil and have them hang out kinda close to the fire for an hour or two. It’ll slowly cool down and the meat will relax. Definitely will take a while longer than this method, but will definitely be tender.

Two left handed guys on the same hunt, surprising! Always looks strange when somebody stands on the right side of the gun.
