I feel like there is entire untapped market for "rebuild/construction" simulation games. I would imagine they could legitimately be useful training sims for real life applications. For example, car repair, engine build simulation, chemistry applications, cooking, metalwork, etc. Gamification drives interest in learning, and if done right these games could provide an in depth functional education for various aspects of life. Piloting simulators, driving sims for trucks and heavy transport, and computer building/fixing are all sim games that exist. I could easily see a vehicle repair sim being a huge untapped market, DLC models of cars/engines. Hell in a far-future that somehow isn't a corporate dystopia, we might even be able to use gamified sim learning and 3d printing to take care of many repair and construction needs.

It may sound very one-dimensional, but I was rather impressed by World of Guns on steam. From what I can tell, they get the rights to the designs for various guns and model them accurately down to the smallest parts for disassembly and reassembly. It can be rather overwhelming when trying to take apart a weapon that has hundreds of parts, but it's surprisingly informative and zen-like. Sadly, their business model is very much pay-to-play. It's a free download, but to unlock new guns you either buy them or have to disassemble and reassemble the same model hundreds of times. The concept is out there though, and WoG does have simulated models of various vehicles and even dinosaur and human skeletons.
@Nodjia3 жыл бұрын
@@ZedF86 I don't think it sounds one dimensional at all. It seems like a bit of a predatory business model, but as I noted above the potential for dlc content for a "builder engine" is fairly unlimited. Guns are just another mechanical thing, just like cars or airplanes or manufacturing devices, or even anatomy. If we can represent the object in an interactive 3d environment and break it down into it's component parts, people can learn from it while also being a form of entertainment. It's kind of a really cool concept.
