MECK DA-601 - Am I missing the Copper Foil Dial Face?

What are your thoughts on the Copper Dial Face, is it missing or was this production run different from others for this period of time? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section.

In my previous video, I shared my M&P for building a replacement Antenna Coil for the MECK DA-601 TRF receiver using a Ferrite Toroid F50-61 after calculating the required inductance then winding the secondary w/ 28 AWG magnet wire and the primary w/ 26 AWG magnet wire.
Excel formula example for the secondary based on my TRF receiver:

Came that way, Sold with and without. Also audio tubes were random 50B5 50C5, 50L6. Mfg used just about the cheapest available, reminds me of Curtis Mathis TV's. Sold as Most expensive and well worth it. Never knew what was inside one. Could be a RCA, a Zenith, Admiral, you name it. They mixed and matched surplus parts available from other companies. Your chassis, tuner, and video tube could all be different. The independents hated to work on them and Curtis Mathis charged so much they could replace a TV under warranty, they had the longest warranty, and still make money. They were only sold by Curtis Mathis dealers who were not allowed to sell anything else as they wanted no side by side comparison.

There are photos of two Meck DA-601s on the Radio Attic website. Dated 1949 it is the same as yours, while the 1950 version has a copper scale faceplate.

I would say, the white numbers are quite pure in design and implementation, and I think I just see another model.

Two versions. The one you have is correct for 1950 but a earlier version did have the copper foil dial face. That one came with a 50B5 like the identical Aircastle model 9008I or 9008W ( by Spiegel,Inc in 1950) but which had a single IF stage .

A no thrill radio. They always had lower quality models perhaps this could be one.
