It's the lack of quality sleep which is so detrimental. I am reading the sleep book written by Dr. Matthew Walker, and it will change your view on the importance of sleeping each night. Also, if you need to, give the 16-minute trucker nap or the NASA 26-minute nap or the NASA 40-minute nap a try sometime. I often get pretty good results from napping and then I can be productive again.

I love how honest you guys are with us. Social media leaves such wrong impressions and in med school with so much online content I completely dissociated from my class and imposter syndrome kicked in brutally. I'm now getting half a year off to get back on track. I really had to "learn" how to learn but that was nearly impossible with no real contact with others at all being a first year medical student who began to study when covid hitted. We had literally no-site courses for the first 1.5 years. And that sucked because socialising is one of my biggest strenghts. I guess corona taught us some lessons about ourselves. But actually everyone know how shitty being alone feels and how it has consequences. But with your videos and some of Ali Abdaals I get back in the sattle with a good learning technique. So thanks from germany guys.

I do not study medicine, but I'm am engineering student and it was an absolute blessing that your video was recommended to me. You helped me realise this significance in being able to help other's whether that means just standing there to listen. The person at the end was extremely correct about finding a work-life balance early on, I have failed to do that and me deciding to retake the year to learn to properly find this balance for myself is my way of beating burnout. Thanks for the video😊 it's much appreciated

Thanks for making this video. I'm the kid of Asian immigrants too, and although my parents try not to pressure me too hard about it, I still find myself feeling weighed down by the enormity of law school and whether I could actually succeed. Especially knowing how hard they worked to provide for my sister and I. It seems obvious that everybody struggles with mental health (whether in the clinical way or in the more temporary way) but not everyone talks about it, especially not in Asian diaspora communities, even less so in the medical and law student communities, so I'm really grateful that you put this all out there.

This vid is soo genuine 💛 sometimes all you need is someone who listens. i remember a video about motivation by DR. k and he says there that helping other people (altruism) can make us feel more motivated. And this video is one of example of that 💛

"It's not about how much you know or how hard you've worked but about how much you can give to help you find your center of balance" This made me tear up. in my mind, it's always about what I don't know and how many hours I'm not studying. , I'm either burning myself out or giving up entirely, no in between.
