I follow a lot of medicine related KZbinrs and Instagrams as I aspire to go to medical school, and yours is by far the most motivating because of your transparency. I think others have a tendency to only show the highlights of medicine and medical school, which leaves me wondering if I'm even capable. But you show your struggles, as well as how hard you work to get past them, and that means a lot to me! Thank you for your videos, and keep on studying! You got this.

C S same. I remember once seeing that she said she thought she probably got a C on a test.... And I think it's great how she doesn't just say "I got an A!" "Oh look another A".... Like so many others only show when they are doing good.... While most people are getting C's and B's....
@HaHaLooLoo2 жыл бұрын
I agree. I’m not even IN medicine I just like the med KZbin community lol. And they always try to make it look aesthetic and hyper freakish efficient and it’s all fine. Not America! And I mens that in the BEST POSSIBLE SENSE.

Hey guys! Thanks for all the positive words☺️❤️ To answer a few of y'alls questions, I study basically from the time I wake up to before I fall asleep. with a few hours in between for randomness, breaks, and food! And about sea world, I had always heard things about their establishment but have never done much research. A friend who goes often had told me it was a good place for animals and after winning raffle tickets, I decided to go. maybe yall know bad details about sea world that I don't and I'm really sorry if going offended yall :( I'm all for animals and I will do more research! thank you again guys for your input!

You don't know what you don't know! I used to go to Sea World and other aquariums like that all the time because like you, I love animals! But now that I am more aware of the moral and ethical implications, I stay away. I love how honest you are and how open you are to new information like this. It shows that you truly are a humble and good hearted person. :)

Hey America! Just a heads up, there's a few mistakes in FA2017. In your video it's written that deamination of Adenine leads to Guanine but it actually results in Hypoxanthine. (and deamination of Guanine results in Xanthine) It's wrong in FA. I found a PDF of corrections for FA2017 floating around the internet and it was super helpful. Hope that helps! Good luck on Step!!

This may be the first KZbin video ever that I’ve commented on, but I've been watching a lot of med school vlogs and found a recent vlogger who talked about mental health in med school and how it can be very stressful for students and can often lead to depression and suicide. Do you think you could make a video on up keep for mental health during school? I think almost every high achieving student has “been there”. It can be really overwhelming and discouraging and once you get in that “hole” it can be really hard to get back out. You seem to recognize all these things, but still maintain a good attitude. Thanks for your videos!

Hey girl let me help you out! you and I use the same resources but I've been studying for step for a minute now so I've made your mistakes and fixed them!! 1) for your first pass of uworld (or, at least to start uworld prep until you feel like you can pick up speed) just do uworld by the subjects you feel strong in already + the one your covering in FA express!! add the subjects as you go through more express. if you select all, it can easily take a day to review 40 q's. You can always select all later on when you have picked up speed, or when you are doing second pass. 2) do Uworld in TimedTutor mode! i found when i did 40 question blocks, etc it took me a TON more time to review the answers or sometimes i ended up not even reviewing them all bc they were piling up and i just needed to do new ones already. Love FA express, love the flashcards, love the notes doc -- I do all the same :) This is the final stretch and YOU CAN DO IT! good luck!!

I Used your idea and wrote down a Things I Don't Know list. To just keep going over each day along with lab values, antidotes and pharmacology. I cut my Saunder's NCLEX review book apart to make it loose leaf and enable me to walk around while reading over. This helped me to stay energized and keep the blood flow to my brain going. I placed the loose pages in a binder and just took out what I was reading. It help to hold a piece of thick card stock behind the page so I wasn't distracted by the other side showing through the front, due to how thing the pages are. I had covered the info before in school or on my own so I was reviewing my basic knowledge on the fundamentals about 100 to 150 pages a day by just reading the red, bolded, tables, illustrations and anything with the pyramid symbol beside it. Thanks for the inspirational video! Nice job! You will pass your First Aide exam with confidence.

Hi America! I'm also studying for Step 1 currently and have found the YouSMLE Anki deck SUPER helpful (I use both Step 1 and Pharmacology decks) for retention. His flashcards make you think (a lot of this vs that style), and using Anki they are spaced repetition and you can control how often you want to see which cards. I set mine to 40 new cards per day and do them by subject after reviewing that chapter in First Aid, and since it's spaced repetition you also get cards from other subjects each day that you've already learned just to stay in your brain. Good luck with your studying!

Don't worry about uworld block avgs! I was obsessive too when I started and it can get you down when you are scoring below uworld avg for that block but now I approach it as not miss those same question when exam day comes. The avg is inflated anyways bec some people do it multiple times or have done multiple qbanks prior to it when don't you do it by system wise which is much easier to retain info and learn first aid at the same time. After you have done systems go back and do the low yield subjects like biochem, immuni, genetics.
