Im pretty sure leaderboards being kept means you can already set rate change scores and it will count when ranked (correct me on this if im wrong because im assuming). I still dont think people realize just how much free pp its gonna be.

love the optimizations they have made to lazer, got an old system (pentium e5300 and gt120) and was able to get a staple of 30fps with 4.7ms delay, was able to get 60 but would drop to 40 when many circles or sliders appeared

I would love it if there was a mod/option that just plays hitsounds automatically, ignoring the timing of your clicks (like in ADOFAI). I play without hitsounds because they feel weird and delayed (which is expected with osu!'s implementation) but it would make the game feel a lot better for me. Also ,calibrating offset for individual maps would be much easier

I'm having so much fun playing in Lazer. I've been playing osu actively for almost 10 years now and at first I was reluctant, Lazer wasn't feeling right and I couldn't tell why, but from 2022 to 2023 it has clearly changed a lot and now I can't even tell if there's still any advantage by playing in stable. Thanks Peppy and all devs involved in the creation of Lazer ❤️

Lazer is really cool, but until old scores are respected and you guys don't automatically devalue EVERY old score, I will not be playing this game. Either give classic it's own leaderboard, or don't devalue you them at all. It's simply not fair when every leaderboard gets obliterated because of a penalty old scores couldn't avoid.

That was what peppy specifically stated himself, but so far he doesn't seem to be living up to that. Hence why I proposed a second, separate leaderboard. If people want to keep playing stable, they can. But if people want to play lazer because they think it's a better game, they also can.

For me as a mania player, I'm fully using lazer to play and not returning to stable, due to lazer having decoupled input handling, which removes the need to run at super high frame rates Also keep in mind, hardly anyone even cared about lazer before the pp release and (partial) leaderboard merge, so it's also unfair to say that peppy is "not living up to that", when he wasn't even getting much feedback from the player base at all. It'll get better for sure, but everything takes time, and they're not fully out of the bug fixing phase yet. Keep playing on stable if leaderboard integrity is that important to you, and check back when we have full leaderboard merge.

hi will lazer pp score be combined sometime in the future with stable score? so that the rank wont differ between platform (ive been playing on both platform but ive gained more through lazer, unfortunately everytime i move to stable it doesnt match)

Can I still play on stable? Yes. Scores submitted from stable will still reward pp as normal and will be added to the global leaderboards. However, scores set in lazer will not be viewable inside stable. Because pp are being calculated separately in stable and in lazer, switching between the clients may cause your total pp to change as a result; this will be fixed in an upcoming update.

I tried lazer, and even knowing my progress might get eviscerated at some point I still can't go back to stable. I've had some issues with the tablet driver area, but lazer is just too good to not use. Please, make so i can use the same folder of songs for both my osu standard and lazer, i don't have enough storage to have two 30gb songs folders and i want to be able to play both. Also, the volume menu, make so you can change where it is, in standard is on bottom right of the screen and in lazer is only on the left side of the monitor!

I don't think using the same folder will be possible. Lazer use encryption for its database, Stable version don't use it. They said it's better and faster, for example you don't need to refresh song list every now and then
