My alt is 124 and my ast is 118. The blood test was taken a week ago. Before the blood tests, after simple abdominal ultrasound, I was diagnosed with NAFLD. I also am 30 yo, grade 1 obese, at the limit with overweight. I will go for further investigation this week. The doctors said the ast, alt should have been lower in this condition. I did take Paracetamol/Nurofen and got to the gym the weeks before the blood test. I stopped the heavy workout at this time and did only little effort exercises.

AST is doubled with alcoholic hepatitis because alcohol causes lysis of the mitochondria (releasing more AST), correct?

Hi I'm 20 and Male. I feel fine but my alt is 172 and my ast is 243. I had the cornaviruse several months ago and my monocytes are slightly high as well. The doctor thinks I may have mono or hepatitis. Anyone know what could be happening?

Can heavy alcohol drinking for a long time damage the livers ability to enter ketosis? Would a keto diet be safe if you recently gave up alcohol after 2 years or 3 years of drinking?

Im not a med student but just have a question: do the arrows going upwards mean that in these cases the enzymes are always elevated ? If so does this enzyme level increase mean it goes to a larger amount than the normal enzyme level range ? Thanks.

Liver purpose = conjugate bilirubin? Then how does high conjugated mean liver duct isn’t working? Wouldn’t kidneys just remove it all?

With CL/CLL, is it normal for xtra WBC to collect under the skin and make lumps cause there is no where else to go and cannot be excreted in urine? Also feel better when some blood is removed from a blood test or just bleeding from nose or cut....
