As someone who has been a consumer of both medicinal psychedelics and recreational marijuana for over a decade, I can attest that medicinal marijuana has proven benefits when used under expert supervision, whether it’s CBD or THC. However, it’s not a cure-all and shouldn’t be treated as such. On the other hand, while many claim that recreational marijuana is less harmful than alcohol, I’ve noticed that prolonged use has significant negative effects. In my experience, constant use can lower overall performance, affect productivity, and alienate the consumer from social and family circles who don’t partake. THC saturating cannabinoid receptors can slow down thinking, lower intellectual capacity, and increase dependence to feel comfortable in day-to-day life. Although some people manage to function with daily use, it’s undeniable that for many, recreational cannabis can severely impact memory, motivation, and the ability to connect socially. That’s why, although legalization is essential to properly control its use, the notion that cannabis is harmless is simply false. Let’s use it responsibly and with a clear awareness of its limitations.

As someone who's been a regular consumer of cannabis for more than half a century, I disagree. There is no justification for restricting access to this plant for adult consumption. Prohibition always fails and creating criminals out of people who do no harm by consuming a plant that has proven health benefits for so many is just wrong. There will always be some people who react badly to cannabis. Just as some react badly to coffee, alcohol or just about anything else you can think of. Their adverse reaction is no reason to prevent access to others. Human creativity has undoubtedly been positively influenced by access to cannabis over tens of thousands of years. No individual, or group of individuals, has the right to deny those same opportunities to current or future generations. Cannabis was criminalised in the 20th century because of rac ism and war mongering. Both of which are reprehensible. In those countries where decriminalisation has subsequently occurred there have been net positive outcomes. It is in countries where cannabis use remains illegal that any "problems" persist because they are manufactured and the associated laws still used as tools of oppression.

Dude, I almost unfollowed the channel because I had no idea about the new name. Some heads up with the branding would’ve helped here, but alas, here we are.

Gavin states correctly that the UK is a laggard when it comes to cannabis. The same goes for business rates reform, embracing Bitcoin, anti-business regulation etc. The UK is swiftly becoming a country that is in a perpetual state of 'managed decline'.

Loved the discussion and the idea that marijuana will not be looked at as a drug. However, I do not like the argument that its not dangerous because it's a plant. I agree marijuana isn't dangerous, but there are several plants and fungi that will straight up kill you if you eat them.

I agree. Preferred the more serious one using his real name. Why give yourself a bad reputation right of the bat and make every new listener immediately suspicious, presumtious and edgy towards the host? If I'd stumble upon the show and would see the title I would be immediately turned off.. unfortunately. If he wants to be obnoxious (maybe it is common feedback he received) he should stand to it with his name and let the listeners decide for themselves

Not knowing the history of why cannabis was made illegal is shocking and disappointing.

I think it is important to understand that I have retired from being a Bitcoin podcaster. I could not do the travel anymore as I have other things I want to do in life. I also don't like doing remote shows, therefore there were no more legs in a Bitcoin show. I didn't want to stop podcasting so I have decided to just carry on interviewing people I like on topics I am interested in. Sometimes I will still make Bitcoin shows. Most shows I make Bitcoin comes up but I have to put my health and family first.
