❤thanks so much, I was born on May 27th, 1958 and I'm also a Veteran with full Veterans health benefits. Which Medicare Parts am I required to sign up for?

kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHu8kqiLn52Ajbc To avoid a late enrollment penalty, Medicare A & B when eligible. Part D isn't required since you have VA as an option. Any underwriting on supplemental insurance with the SEP delay if you stay on a group plan past 65??????? If you have a prior existing condition??????

Thank you. Great info. Should we add to those who must go onto Medicare at 65: Those working for a state/local government, whose plans often (have to check) mirror the Tricare approach? Thanks.

Great point

One point of confusion (mine). It was my understanding that if you work past age 65 for an employer with 20+ employees, you had an SEP to enroll in Medicare anytime during your post-65 coverage, plus 8 months after coverage ends (via retirement). Is that not correct? You say in the video that the employer can possibly prevent you from going on Medicare outside the company's annual enrollment period, which would mean my understanding was wrong. Thank you.

You would if it's via retirement or loss of the coverage but for people who decide to go on Medicare while still working, past 65, may only be able to drop the Employer Plan at certain times.

I am 66 with VA and June 2024 I will be covered by a company group plan. I must keep the insurance because I have my wife in the plan she is 60. I was informed that I am already penalized, but the penalty will not continue to increase since I got company coverage. Is that correct?

That is correct now that you have insurance from a group plan.

@@MedicareSchoolI was born 1955 and working for a big pharmaceutical company with 1800 employees. I am not enroll on Medicare part A and part B when I passed 65 (2920) because I have an HSA account and still contributing to my account without penalty when I retire at 70 in 2025! I will stop contributing on my HSA at January 2025 ( 1 year instead of 6 moths) and my employer does the same . I plan to retire at the end of 2025 and also enroll Medicare part A and part B as well as SSA benefit effective on first day if 2026 that I need to apply 90 days before the end of 2025 due to no gaps between employer health insurance coverage into Medicare! Please advise if you have any questions or concerns Thank you

If I stop working at age 62 and do not take social security until FRA but want to enroll in Medicare at 65 do I need to show credible coverage from 62 to 65? Am I direct billed the premiums for meducare coverage?
@niceguy9517 Жыл бұрын
No credible coverage required in you case. If you wait for FRA for SS then Medicare bills you quarterly

Correct. Thanks for the input. You can also request monthly auto pay.

I’m still working born in 1957. My wife was born in 1960 and is not employed outside the home. I have chosen not to take Medicare yet. When she turns 65 I assume she has the option to enroll even if I’m still working and not enrolled? we have a plan and more than 20 employees where I work. If I stop working she would need to enroll with the same SEP as me?
