About the urine discoloration is that mean hemoglobinuria?

One has to wonder if regular urea, being nontoxic, is as efficacious as hydroxyurea 🤔 urea was very commonly used before it was supplanted by mannitol. Urea is making a comeback for siadh and hyponatremia. Besides being good for the skin and used in cosmetics, urea also treats liver carcinoma.

What’s your evidence?

@@MedicosisPerfectionalis sorry for late reply. Danopolous would probably be considered the pioneer of urea for HCC. Research trailed off in the 70s, which is understandable as mannitol displaced urea for things like cerebral edema. Urena, a medical food company, has been heavily advancing urea for siadh and hyponatremia. I'll include a few links for sickle cell... considering it's nontoxic, whereas hydroxyurea is very toxic, i think it's criminal urea isn't used more often.
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJM197110282851803 The general properties of urea suggest it's efficacy, it has to do with redox state of the cell, and explains why urea has shown benefit is so many conditions. Sort of underground biology, in case you're interested, an interesting youtube link is below. There was controversy surrounding urea therapy in the 70s for SSA, with some studies demonstrating efficacy, and some not. The critics of the studies that failed said an insufficient dose was used. Has I SSA, i would first use urea. The only potential benefit of hydroxyurea would possibly be its kinetics. The need for a company to patent urea as a medical food (urena) suggests that in mainstream circles, the theraputic use of urea may've been unjustly dismissed. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGeYknmGeshpY5I

See "managment of sickle-cell disease", j stuart, birningham children's hospital, 1974, for a discussion of the controversy surrounding urea therapy at that time.

What's your point? Is it a point mutation? haha I love the puns.
