If the animals don't have a caretaker, they still produce and reproduce, but only at around 20%. So if you want to have more manure, eggs, piglets ect, have a worker give them a helping hand 😅

I picked my location based entirely on wanting to be next to a pretty waterfall but I'm really happy with it. Half way between the main town and whichever town is to the east. There's a river, a cave and nice flat land for fields and stuff, and lots of deer keep spawning close by for hunting.

Yeah, continue on. I've died about seven times out gathering resources. It seems no real effects other than popping back up in your house. I found using an axe to defend yourself from wolves works well. Stupid boars get me everytime. Cheers, mate.

Your town location is exactly where I setup my town. It is centrally located on the map and a short walk to the main town where you have many vendors and the quest board where you will get most of your quests. You don't need to be near a mine in order to setup a mine. Your mine workers will walk to the mine in the morning and you do not lose any productivity. As far as dying is concerned, I have autosave setup for every 5 mins so if I die I just reload. There are 9 clay deposit areas on the map and most are guarded by either 3-4 boars or 3-4 wolves and 1 site has both so you should try to get an iron crossbow and iron bolts for defense and hunting as it is the best weapon in the game. You should have 3 points in treasure hunter to have the best chance to find treasure.

Trees need 2 years to grow back. If you chopped them down in spring, they should be back in summer after they 2 years.

Loving the content. Big recommendation: Build a fishing hut to catch fish to cook and sell for big coinage. Hunting shack is a waist, unfortunately.

The food supply went down because you disabled the cooked foods in an earlier episode. I would highly recommend enabling it for potage and just storing all of your food in the food storage because it degrades slower in there. Also rather than just selling the linen fabric making both linen thread and fabric into linen shirts is far more valuable.

There is actually a cave with ore in it to the West of your location. Best way to find it is zoom into the area to your W where the 2 roads intersect (The more westerly one) just north of that small Lake to your SW and you'll notice that small white/blue part that shows a cave entrance. Beware there are 2 bears there but it should be close enough to just build a resource storage and perhaps start a small mining colony if you like but still being able to keep main village where it is. Hope this makes sense. Enjoying the series keep it up!

I was worried about moving my town as well but if you have a resource building at both sites, you can move materials pretty easy. I moved about 18 buildings yesterday, including houses, and now I have a cool town square area of two 8x8 farms with the production buildings in the back, animals to the right and houses to the left. I'm hoping to make them circle around on each other with the road network I"m building.

@@Kysen if you put a point in master of destruction (tier 2 excavation) you'll get 50% of the resources back. Its better than nothing if you don't want to keep the first village as an outpost village

Really loving the vids, keep them comming!! I just started playing this game myself but im enjoying it in a 'creative' way without tax and infinite carry capacity. Always nice to see others play the game you playing, sometimes you learn something from it :)

You can see peoples specific skills before you accept them into your village using inspector mode. And yeah, houses are for families only. 1 single male and 1 single female can go into one house, then the closer in age they are the more likely they are to get married and have a child early. Age of villager as far as work goes doesn't matter too much, just that you keep potential mates close in age. Just be aware that when they have their child, the mother wont work for 2 years. So you'll end up with a lot of unfilled jobs at some point.

South east of Piastovia there is a great spot for a town. Go south follow the big river until it branches off SE, you can see a split in the smaller river. There is a cave with ore right next to a waterfall. Be cautious going west north west of the waterfall as a bear or two can spawn there. Overall though its one of the best locations for all aspects. Flat ground for large farms, nice views, relatively close to most towns (about 400ish meters to piastovia). The only thing is i couldn't find a spot for a fishing hut.

This spot and the beach almost due north with a large flat piece of land and a cave are 2 of the best. You can fit a fishing hut in a couple locations by the waterfall. Mine was just opposite of the bridge from the waterfall, and I've seen another person put it a bit further down stream, barely fitting.

If you do decide to move your village there's a great spot east of Klonica. It's a large island on your map. It's near a cave, a clay pit, spot for a fishing hut, large area for farming and a town, and it's close to a town with a wagoneer

I took the same quest and did the EXACT SAME THING 😩😩😩ran back with 12 simple torches. and seeing as my one death came from a glitchy tree that got snagged and popped up into my face I'm OK with a simple respawn.

I was killed by a tree - loaded an autosave my wife gave me some tips, said to always carry 50 broadleaf plantains on you to heal yourself up if you get into a scrap with a boar or a wolf.

Cooking food brings up any spoiling food to 100% so roast your raw meat or cook your roasted meat into soup, etc. Then sell it if you don’t need it. The sell price goes down as the quality decreases.

I love how meticulous you are being with choosing townsfolk; definitely a choice between their Proficiency vs. preference. I think you can afford to have some unhappy townsfolk,especially if you plan to rectify their unhappiness within the same season. However with the new food receipies unlocked you won't have to worry about food if you hire someone to start cooking as you collect the animal resources. As for the housong situation,you can continue contructing houses a bit off into the land that will eventually connect to your town as you expand. Don't forget that you can build trading stands and even make your own little market to start passivley selling your goods,look into it!

Houses meaning 1 house for a man and 1 house for a woman, 2 should do it and by that point you'll definitely have enough leeway to allow them to populate.

1) I like the fast building and crafting. After watching a dozen or more streamers doing it slowly, it becomes very tedious. 2) I’m not interested in hard mode at least on a new map. It’s an rpg. Maybe later when you get down the ins and outs of the various parts of the game would it be fine. 3) About the donkeys- mine had a foal with no worker BUT I’m on Xbox and don’t know if they changed it for Oxbow. I haven’t seen the game changes yet.

I've got wood, firewood, sticks etc in the barn, but this does not shoe in the resource menu. The villagers are not picking the firewood up. I've got to provide their houses. Any tips?

I am very interested in seeing how you move a town. Hardcore is for people who don't *really* want to play the game - they want to start a game and end it.. not PLAY THE GAME. My son does this.
