Fantastic revisit to one of my favorite game since i was little! This is my childhood defined. Me and my brother grew up with these series. That made me cry with happiness!!!!! Take notes other developers, THIS IS HOW YOU PRESERVE GAMES THE RIGHT WAY!!!!!!!!

Oh man! I'm so stoked you liked the remake!! I was really hoping it would be great. I owned the original as one of my very first PS1 titles before I had a memory card and had to marathon it to try to beat it. It still has a special place in my heart due to the silly humor and the dark themes.
@happyjam922 жыл бұрын
I just beat it and have to say I loved it! Playing the demo when I was a kid freaked me out but there was something about this game that made me want to return to it someday. I'm very glad I did, the visual overhaul gave the game some nightmare before christmas vibes which I loved. The gameplay was a lot of fun with classic action playform style, a great variety of weapons and the characters were fun and interesting. I rarely every complete games but I may go back for the other trophies I may have missed.

The camera in the original version was the result of development commencing in 1995, with the release in 1998. The Analogue Controller released in 1997, thus development would likely have been extended by several years especially given the inexperience of the team with 3D. Additionally, we did not miss Analogue when we did not have it, and it took many years for games to adapt their control styles to make use of the right stick. XD

Just want to say that the bigger reason why the camera wasn't able to be controlled by the right analog stick was because the original came out so early during the Playstation (one) lifecycle that the dual shock sticks weren't fully a thing in EVERY game. So the game had to be playable without them. Making separate controls for having a stick and not probably would've been too difficult back in those days. But the lack of 3D platforming creation experience probably didn't help either. But I have a feeling it had more to do with the type of controls from those days rather than the programming chops. Anyway so glad most games these days make use of all the things those games couldn't. Lol. Gaming has come a long way over even just the last 10 years or so. Let alone nearly 20 years ago when this game first released. And obviously from 30 years or more (just look at old school SNES or even NES games). It's always fun to take a trip back and experience those older titles. You should cover more games from those days every so often, Jirard. Pick some old school NES or SNES gems from the online streaming thing for Switch. StarTropics is a great example. I've been replaying that recently. It's challenging yet so well done for its time. Just a thought
