Wow, I was literally feeling this difficulty today; when I first started meditating I would feel very blissful and connected but over the last few weeks this feeling faded and I kept chasing it, but I see now im quite literally doing the opposite of what is needed to fix this, I was chasing that feeling selfishly and for myself, im going to apply this moving forward. Awesome video, your references were spot on and you did a great job of explaining this, you put a smile on my face, thank you!

Thank you. I appreciate your wisdom. I have been corrected in believing desire to be a bad thing. I have also been corrected in the purpose of doing meditation for higher purpose. I have just started meditating again in order to achieve greater empathy, to improve my relationship, to heal my brain, to improve my social capacity, to atone for karma, and to develop greater ability in my ability to feel powerful, empowered. To be strong, internally. I am experiencing a lot of pain and I am always thinking about myself and I realize that this one way street is causing me pain too. I will think of greater supreme consciousness, and devote this to this.

The main problem is selfishness , it is simple. you meditate to get pleasure ? or you meditate to bring peace to your mind and to the world ? what is your the desire ? to help others to understand why they suffer and help them by showing the way how to be free from suffer. The compassion( bodhichitta) is the only one correct motivation for the meditation- Buddha. Also Buddha said that there is nothing like creator or supreme but just flow of mind and nature of mind is emptiness. According to tantra, the ultimate nature of mind is essentially pure. This pristine nature is technically called "clear light." The various afflictive emotions such as desire, hatred and jealousy are products of conditioning. They are not intrinsic qualities of the mind because the mind can be cleansed of them. When this clear light nature of mind is veiled or inhibited from expressing its true essence by the conditioning of the afflictive emotions and thoughts, the person is said to be caught in the cycle of existence, samsara. But when, by applying appropriate meditative techniques and practices, the individual is able to fully experience this clear light nature of mind free from the influence and conditioning of the afflictive states, he or she is on the way to true liberation and full enlightenment. Hence, from the Buddhist point of view, both bondage and true freedom depend on the varying states of this clear light mind, and the resultant state that meditators try to attain through the application of various meditative techniques is one in which this ultimate nature of mind fully manifests all its positive potential, enlightenment, or Buddhahood. An understanding of the clear light mind therefore becomes crucial in the context of spiritual endeavor.

This is a very poignant message for a sadakas. One that is often missed by so many, for so long... as always you have aimed and perfectly HIT the target with your very precise and memorable analogies. Thus bringing to the aspirant, effulgence -light on the path.

Thanks for a great video, dada. I had a question about the teachings of simply observing which you mention as 'sowing no seeds' in the video 'Do we have a destiny'. Is this always applicable? Example : Someone is being negligent or mean to a child. I see this and have a reaction in my body-brain to stop this. Do I act on this desire? Should I stop this action which seems 'bad' to 'me'? Is this my ego? Should I observe circumstances where 'I' feel that injustice is being done? You mention, the vritti of 'vivek' in the Anahata chakra video. Does that not talk to us and tell us to do certain things? Do we listen to it? Or is it the ego which is speaking? Sorry for so many questions. But this has been a life long debate point in my mind. I would be very much grateful for a reply. Thanks so much :)

Well, of course we must act, when we see an improper action or behavior, but we should not lose temper, self-control, inner balance. And act out of benevolence, not out of anger or irritation.

I’m a beginner to meditation and I was wondering if the posture you take with your hands, how you place them matter?
@MeditationSteps6 жыл бұрын
There are some subtle differences. You will not feel in the beginning, but later on, you will discover that difference is there. You can cross the hands, it is good for the technique of meditation that we are teaching here.

5:42 - can someone provide the complete text of the sanskrit mantra? (Pranava dana shar...)
Namaste Dada. Thanks for this great advice. Its important to focus your mind and that needs one to withdraw the senses - pratyahara. Could you please do a video on pratyahara and how we can tell when we have achieved it? Thanks again.
@MeditationSteps6 жыл бұрын
The simple pratyahara is explained in the first video of starting meditation course, more advanced one is taught in the process of personal instruction during initiation into the practice of meditation.

Meditation is the path of spiritual evolution - most of us operate on the level of bacteria - some have evolved beyond into multicellular organisms and every once in a while you encounter one spiritually evolved into the full measure of the spiritual man. I look at these people like an ant probably looks at us. Its a great time to be alive my friends!

can someone explain what exactly is consciousness? how can i target somehting i dont undertand
@amritachakraborty88274 жыл бұрын
Alexis Morales I can attempt a very layman/woman answer. Consciousness is our awareness. Like when we’re awake, we’re aware of light, sound, taste etc...in deep sleep we’re not aware of these but aware of dreams. People who have slipped into coma say they were aware of xyz experiences. So all these refer to different kinda/levels of awarenessAnd I think( I maybe wrong too) Dada here is talking of the highest consciousness, the Supreme Consciousness, Omnipotent, omniscient. Anyways, hope u find many better answers. This is my 2 pennies worth of explanation of consciousness
@jagudada19874 жыл бұрын
Consciousness is something which you feel when you close your eyes and focus on the middle of fore head , it causes tingling sensation , consciousness binds your body and breath , it make you alive , to understand it better you have to do pranayama and meditation .

@jagudada19874 жыл бұрын
this is the difference between real guru and so call sadguru ,a guru is the one who teaches his experience and ask to experience the divine consciousness selflessly , here the sadguru in india asks to enjoy and his sole purpose of doing kriya is for selfish reason ,just to enjoy the moment , I hope people understand this difference .

I skip this one, because the title is absurd. there is no "how", there is no "do", and there is no "good" when it comes to meditation. there are two great misconception which makes me sad sometimes. One is about Yoga as a kind of wellness program and the other one is within people who take Yoga kind of seriously - meditation. I blame Patanjali for that, because he could have been more specific and more clear about Dhyana in his Yoga Sutras, but on the other hand, it is kind of tricky to define and specify it, because it is beyond definitions and specifications. He could have said - when You do nothing on any level, even though doing might still be going on, if You see nothing even though seeing might still be going on, if there is no You, but there is still awareness, when there is pure "amness", but no "I" - that is meditation. Patanjali would never write that. Too long and unnecessary for those who came so far as Dharana. Who mastered their bodies, energies, senses, their minds - they know what the difference is. And as for the others - he didn't really cared.
