Can’t wait to see ChargePoint Omni port charging roll out throughout the Vancouver and surrounding area in BC Canada. We need more of the Omni port that support the faster 800 volt architecture so those of us with faster charging capability can get in and out faster 😎👍🏻👍🏻

Hey this is pretty cool, can’t wait for NACS to be the only port around though! Good job ChargePoint. 😄
@rocketshiftgaming56934 ай бұрын
Ya I’d also rather see pure NACS cables all over and not these as a traditional port would be much more reliable. I can already see issues with these in the future. To me it’s so much easier to have an adapter for your specific vehicle and since most vehicles will turn to NACS in 2025, the only people that would need an adapter are the ones who own electric vehicles now.

Do Tesla NACS need to have CSS capably enabled? Or will this just work.
@ChargePointnet5 ай бұрын
Many Tesla drivers can use the CCS1 adapter from Tesla to use a CCS1 connector on ChargePoint DC fast charging stations. To see if your Tesla will support the CCS1 adapter, go to your Settings in your vehicle dash. Click Software, then Additional Vehicle Information and check for enabled or disabled under CCS adapter support. Older model Tesla vehicles may need an ECU upgrade before being able to charge on Express Plus Power Link 2000 stations with Omni Port. You can fast charge at any ChargePoint location with the CCS1 adapter if your Tesla is enabled. If this option is disabled, contact your Tesla service provider to see what to do next.

Is this able to be retrofitted to chargers? If not is there a particular reason why the connector the end user holds isn't a nacs connector with a CCS adapter?

Good for ChargePoint, the more different brands of EV chargers, the better, and in theory, will create competition and hopefully get per kWh prices down

Will these be the same units that Love’s Travel plazas use for NEVI? Are they 500 amp cables?
@ChargePointnet4 ай бұрын
Yes, Love's will use the Express Plus stations. Site host can set the power output to whatever they need, Express Plus is modular depending how many power module and Power Links are included, see tech specs here: www.chargepoint.com/businesses/stations/express-plus/specs

Can you just swipe a credit card or apple pay and pay then manually select charger type on the screen? And charge…

You can use a contactless card at most ChargePoint charges

Yes, we can easily tap to charge with the payment you have on file (credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay), if you have added your vehicle to the ChargePoint app, it will automatically select the connector that fits your EV or you can easily select the one on screen.

I can't remember the last time I saw Leaf on the road. I thought they were all rusting away at a local junkyard. Worst product ever sold with the slowest charging and virtually no range to get anywhere.

@@igorb81 what a moronic comment.... The Leaf Plus has 226 miles of range and charges up to 100kw. The Bolt charges at 55kw btw and this is the same range as the Solterra, base Mach E, and base Lighting. More than 600,000 Leafs built world wide and driven over 10 million miles. ZERO battery fires. Comfortable for four adults. Very reliable. Very Cheap. Super easy for anyone to drive. MADE IN USA. CCS1 adapters are now available. One of the few EV's you can work on yourself. worst product ever indeed.....

@@igorb81 I see about 1-2 every other day...Nissan sold 6,083 Leaf in 2023. / 3,068 Leaf in 2024. (From Jan - Jul 2024) The LEAF Plus can go 200 mile and could charge near 100 kW also other then non-existent battery thermal management... the reliability is actually good.
